The Mistake by Elle Kennedy

Off-Campus, Book 2

Synopsis: He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

Review: After loving the first volume a lot, I confess that I was anxious to start this second volume. Well it’s true that I was also a little worried … How not to be? What if I was disappointed? Well, yes, because we can not predict in advance. But I finally had a great time with the story once again.

We turn this time to one of Garrett’s friends and roommates: Logan. Ouep, that means that we will have the opportunity to see Garrett and Hannah again for our pleasure! We knew it because of the first volume but Logan is persuaded to be in love with Hannah and to see her with G. is not necessarily the simplest thing. However, when he meets Grace, he thinks that she may be able to help him forget Hannah, but, alas, he makes gaffes after gaffes with her … Well I confess that I told myself several times that it was too bad for him, because really he is not very correct in relation to her. I was also happy when I saw that Grace could take confidence in herself to repel him and make him understand that some things are really not correct. But he is determined our Logan (doesn’t he remind you a little bit of Garrett?) And he wants her back.

It was very touching to see them evolve together, to see that it was not so simple. Grace is a really nice girl to follow. She wants to let go but it is difficult. She is so innocent that it is cute even though I was a little scared because of the virgin side well mentioned in the story. Yes, because it often makes it very cliché. But in the end it did not bother me so much and I enjoyed seeing her assertive and to see her confident and honest with the people around her and especially her friend and of course Logan. Logan does not necessarily have an easy family and I admit that it is not easy to accept his plans.

It was once again a great reading even if I have a preference for volume 1. I saw that the next one is about Dean and saw the character I admit that I am very curious to discover his story.

  1. I myself find that it can be worrisome when you love the first and wish the second just does not ruin anything XD I am glad despite Logan making so many mistakes that Grace was wonderful
