Storm Born by Richelle Mead (VO)

Storm Born Comic, Volume 1

Synopsis: Eugenie Markham never asked for any of this. Until now, she’s been content with her job as a freelance shaman, battling and banishing Otherworldly creatures. When a prophecy suddenly makes her the Otherworld’s most popular bachelorette, Eugenie finds herself fighting off unwanted supernatural suitors, as well as the evils that begin emerging from her past…

Review: I was waiting this comic for a while. Indeed, the Dark Swan series by Richelle mead is one of my favorites and therefore I was very curious to know how was the graphic novel. I confess I wasn’t disappointed. I’m not an expert with comics; I only read some Anita Blake’s volumes and the Mercy Thompson’s series. But it’s true that I really enjoyed this one. Maybe I need to read a lot of other comics but for now I think this one is my favorite.
The story of this book is exactly the same as the novel; I therefore really enjoyed following the Eugenie Markham adventures. Indeed, our heroine is beautiful and I really loved the pictures, it’s also the case for each character too. Well, Dorian was the character I liked the least despite he is interesting too. The Brett Booth pictures at the end of the book improved my feelings. Because Waouh, Kyo and Dorian were just awesome! They’re also very different from the actual drawer.
I was also very surprised by the progress of the story in this first volume. Because I can say a lot of events happened and it’s a real pleasure to follow our heroine. So This book is for me a beautiful surprise and I’m now very curious to know more about the second volume to discover some new representations.
