The Sisters of the Moon, Book 11

Synopsis: We’re the D’Artigo sisters: sexy, savvy ex-operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But being half-human, half-Fae means our powers could go haywire any time-mostly the wrong times. My sister Camille is a wicked-good witch with three sexy husbands. My sister Menolly is a vampire who’s dating a werepuma. And me? I’m Delilah, a two-faced werecat and Death Maiden. I watch over things in the Supe Community, where trouble is about to go down hard…

It’s Valentine’s Day and we’re preparing our friend Iris’s wedding. But when we get word that the Supe Community Center has been bombed, things get really ugly. The evil coyote shifters-the Koyanni-are back and Newkirk, their new leader has joined forces with a group of rogue sorcerers. Then, just as we think things can’t get worse, the demon lord Shadow Wing sends in a new front man, and life really goes to hell…

Review: After reading the first three books, here I am ready for the eleventh volume of the Sisters of the Moon series. Yes, I know, I have a little hole in my reads but I’m surprised to say it didn’t bother me at all. Well maybe it’s better to read them in order, it’s true, but once we know Delilah, Menolly and Camille, we don’t have a lot of questions.
This novel presents us the story from the Delilah’s point of view this time. We can immediately understand it by the beautiful cover we have. I think it’s a character that has evolved a lot since the beginning of the series, she was so idealistic and it was difficult for her to see how the persons could be mean sometimes. But she became a strong woman, determined in her choices, despite it’s not easy for her sometimes. She is however, always helped by the mysterious dragon, Shade. I confess I really want to learn more about him.
This book starts with the explosion of the paranormal creatures center, killing many persons in the same time. A terrible act that will also cause the agitation throughout the supernaturalcommunity. We can feel the strong tension all along the book between humans and Faes. The feeling makes everyone very uncomfortable, as the cruelty is sometimes unlimited.
We therefore will follow the investigation of our three sisters who are determined to find the culprit behind this threat. But when some old enemies join their forced with others, things get complicated, and it’s far from over. The story is always more and more complex and our three half-Faes won’t have the time to be bored. I think it’s the reason why the wedding between Iris and Bruce is highlighted, it’s the only real pause in the hostilities we have all along the chapters. We can easily get caught in the moment and enjoy each second.
This new book is a quite fast read, it’s always a little difficult for me to get hooked by this series but it’s a great sequel. We discover some new problems, some new alliances will be settled and some big battles are coming. I was immediately intrigued by Chase in this story and about what he will become now; I can’t wait to learn more about that as well.
All the researches were very interesting, mainly when we discover so many stories difficult to untangle. With no clues at first, our sisters gradually approach the truth which then allows us to discover little by little what is really going on.
To conclude, it was a good novel, I think now I can go back to my fourth book if I don’t read book 12 before.

I have this weakness for books about sisters (because I love my own with all my heart), and I LOVE the sound of this one! Where one sister is a wicked-good witch, one is a vampire who’s dating a werepuma, and one is a two-faced werecat and Death Maiden? I don’t even think I need to SAY how cool that sounds because it’s a given! :’)

Awesome review, Mel! Even though it’s a little hard to get hooked on this series, it still seems like a fun one to read! 😉 <3

Oh it’s so sweet Mimi! it’s true there are a lot of ideas in this book. Yes it was a nice read. I don’t know why I always have this feeling about the series… I can’t really tell.

I’ve been super curious about this series every since a fellow blogger recommended it to me. I just haven’t found the time to squeeze it in. Your review has only further reinforced that I really do need to get on this!

It’s not my favorite series but it’s nice. I hope you’ll enjoy it if you give it a try.

I’m sort of impressed that this series is still ungoing–and on book 11, no less! I must admit, I tried and failed to get into them, unfortunately. But great review!

I haven’t read a lot of them for now but I understand as well. I have the books 4 5 and 6 for a while now.

This is a series I truly love, so I am always up-to-date, but I am impressed with your persistence considering that its magic failed to work for you. 🙂

I can feel that the book is nice, even if I miss something, I know it but it’s interesting as well. well as I have the books I can read them, maybe I’ll change my mind. I was wondering how it will be after so many books, this one is better for me.

Another explosion? I need to read this book. I have to say, Delilah is not my favorite usually. It’s Camille and then Menolly, but I will have to read this one to get the series in order. That was some extreme jump, Melliane! From third to eleventh? You are very brave! 🙂
