The Vamp Queen ends up owing Jessica, but what Jessica doesn’t realize is just how soon she’ll have to cash it in…

Review: And here’s another great new novel following the adventures of Jessica McClain our unique and amazing wolf. I could not wait to read it knowing the end of the second volume. Indeed, how can’t we be curious about the sudden departure of James or the Marcy’s disappearance? I confess that I was eager to see how it would be unfold.

From the beginning of the novel, our heroine finds herself in a race against time where the stakes are hight. Everyone continues to try to kill our young wolf or to get something from her and she must quickly find allies or the end will come sooner than expected. I confess I did not expect to meet so many different communities here and it was very interesting to see how they evolve. Thus we find witches, wizards, demons, vampires and shapeshifters. Each will have a major role to play in the future of our heroine and it was fascinating to discover what they wanted from her. But our heroine is on the run and she needs as much help as possible to save her life and the ones of her friends.

I really enjoyed having Rourke throughout the novel. This is a character fun to explore and I wanted to understand all his secrets. We can not help but fall under his spell and want to be in the place of his soul mate. He is willing to do anything for her, even putting his life in danger if necessary. What more? Regarding Jessica, it’s really nice to have an intelligent heroine who knows how to take care of herself and looking for solutions that can help everyone. She changes a lot in this novel, managing to handle those who did that to her before. But there is much more and her power is becoming increasingly important. Indeed, we can observe some effects of her blood on some of the characters or what she is able to do now.

It was a very good new novel where we meet all the characters we loved from the first volume. This volume is as good as the previous one and I was quite impatient to reach the end of the novel to find out what was happening. This is a fascinating book, full of action, suspense and extraordinary creatures. This is a series to discover with a new and very good volume. I always look forward to reading more, especially after such a purpose! I’ll cross my fingers that time could pass faster.

  1. Okay, I saw these two books at the bookstore yesterday. I’m now kicking myself why I didn’t pick them up. I read somebody else’s review and have loved it as much as you did.

    Great review, Melliane.
