The Billion Dollar Player (Billionaire’s Club, 2) – Mandy Baxter

n The Billion Dollar Player by Mandy Baxter, Jase Blackwell, starting tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, is a pro when it comes to football—and to women. Never one to shy away from a challenge, “Billion Dollar Blackwell” is finally able to get the cute waitress he’s had his eye on out for a little fun. But when their steamy encounters inspire Jase to play better than he ever has before, he has to wonder if this exciting woman is more than just a good luck charm… Avery Lockhart doesn’t understand why a pro football player would want to go out with her. Incredibly wealthy and undeniably sexy, Jase Blackwell is everything she thinks she’s not. Getting a little closer to this enigmatic billionaire, however, proves too much for Avery to resist. But as their passion heats up, so does Jase’s game play, and soon, the rumors start to fly. Is Avery only being kept around to ease Jace’s pre-game superstitions? Or, like she believes, does their connection run deeper…?

Ever After (The Hollows, 12) – Kim Harrison

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels the human world, is shrinking. If it disappears completely, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to avert catastrophe and keep life from changing… for the worse.

While saving the world is important, it isn’t Rachel’s only motivation. There’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, setting off a chain reaction of unfortunate events. That little mistake has made her life forfeit unless she can fix it. It’s also made her more than a few enemies, including the most powerful demon in the ever after—a terrifying entity who eats souls and now has an insatiable appetite for her. He’s already kidnapped her friend and goddaughter to lure her out, and if Rachel doesn’t give herself up soon, they’ll die.

But Rachel has more than a few impressive and frightening skills of her own, and she isn’t going to hand over her soul and her life without one hell of a fight. She’s also got a surprise: elven tycoon Trent Kalamack. With this unlikely ally beside her—a prospect both thrilling and unnerving—she’s going to return to the ever after, kick some demon butt, rescue her loved ones… and prevent an apocalypse before it’s too late. Or, at least that’s the plan…

The Undead Pool (The Hollows, 12) – Kim Harrison

Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan has managed to save the demonic ever after from shrinking, but at a high cost. Now strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong, and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering.

Rachel must stop the occurrences before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war. However, the only way to do so is through the ancient elven wild magic, which carries its own perils.

Of Monster and Madness – Jessica Verday

A romantic, historical retelling of classic Gothic horror featuring Edgar Allan Poe and his character Annabel Lee, from a New York Times best-selling author.

Summoned to her father’s home in 1820’s Philadelphia, a girl finds herself in the midst of a rash of gruesome murders in which he might be implicated. She is torn romantically between her father’s assistants-one kind and proper, one mysterious and brooding-who share a dark secret and may have more to do with the violent events than they’re letting on.

    • mdr c’est parce que tu as pas encore vu mes avis hyper enthousiaste sur les tomes de Kim Harrison. J’attends avec impatience mon tome 10. Je les ai tous acheté. Parle de restriction…

  1. I stopped reading The Hollows during book 3 because I was tired of Ivy’s attacks on Rachel as a recurring storyline. I’m thinking about going back and giving it another try because I did like the humour. Happy reading!

  2. Wow, Melliane! You’ve got some amazing reading, there! First off, I love Kim Harrison, and did you know, my husband graduated high school with her! Cool, huh!
I’m a bit behind on The Hollows series but looking to catch up!

I also love Jessica Verday! I haven’t read this one yet, but I have it. I loved her Hollow series, which was fab!

Funny that they both have series which has The Hollows in it!

    Great shelves!

  3. Ahh Kim Harrison! I need to read something by that author already. I know I will probably love it. Also I have heard some mixed things about of Monsters and Madness. Hope you’ll enjoy it. Great haul 🙂

  4. I wasn’t all that impressed with Of Monsters and Madness, it was really weird and strange, and the author took too many liberties on the timeline, which didn’t help authenticate the story. 🙁 Hope you enjoy it better though! 🙂

  5. I have to yet start Kim’s books. I have the first one and want to get to it…. one day. 😉

Hope you have a great week, dear. 🙂
