Federal Bureau of Magic Cozy Mystery, Book 1

Synopsis: Welcome to Chipping Cheddar, where supernaturals are hidden in plain sight…

Annoying but loving family? Check.

Picturesque small town with a hot police chief? Check.

A rescue hellhound, a black cat with attitude, and a pet python that thinks he’s a puppy? Triple check.

My story has all the hallmarks of a sweet and cozy supernatural tale, but there’s a twist—

I am evil.

Well, I’m supposed to be evil thanks to both nature and nurture, but I fight it with every fiber of my being. I just want to live a normal life. I even joined the FBI instead of the Federal Bureau of Magic, until my powers reared their ugly head and the agency sent me packing back to my hometown to fight magical crimes instead.

Now I’m back in Chipping Cheddar, living with my evil family, with a new job and all my old baggage.

Oh, and there’s a dead body, which was definitely not an accident.

So there you have it. Welcome to my world.

Review: I didn’t really know this series, but after seeing a friend read it, I confess that I was very curious to find out what the author was proposing.

Eden always refused to live the life that her parents decided for her. Making evil reign everywhere, they thought that she would follow the family business, but she only wants to live a normal life. If until now that was possible, her powers of fury prevent her from being able to forget that she is not like the others and when she attacks in spite of herself somebody, her chiefs are obliged to take measures. Forced to return home to work for the Federal Bureau of Magic, a city where nothing ever happens, she doesn’t expect to end up with a murder case. And did I tell you about Fox, the new Chief of Police who’s hot as hell? I can tell you I’m looking forward to see him again!

I had a really good time with this novel and I’m very curious to find all the characters for the sequel. I loved the whole crazy Eden’s family and the pets. And then how could I not succumb to this book knowing that there are so many types of creatures in this novel: demons, shape-shifters, ghosts, vampires, dogs from Hell, witches and many others!

So yes, I’m very curious to dive into the sequel now!
