Review: I must say that I have not read the first book but I really wanted to read it after its release. So when I saw the second volume, I was once again intrigued. I was therefore happy to have a good time with this little story that we can read very quickly.
Francesca is a pretty young photographer who pays attention to herself. We discover her at the beginning of the novel trying to take a picture of a man, Greg, who behaves like a cad for an interview he granted her. Several years later, our young heroine continues to work in the field of photography and fashion and it is in this context that she is found engaged for a reality show to become a coach. Yes, she must help the candidates to become some true fashion victims. This job falls perfectly for Francesca whose daughter has decided to go and live with her father. That’s also why our heroine finds herself alone since she left her last companion. But like everyone else, our photographer hopes to find love, to find the perfect person for her. Then a friend offers her a pair of vintage shoes that is supposed to help in this direction, our woman will start to lose heart in her work. But guess who is participating in this program? The man she hoped never to see again? Yes, Greg will be there, and she is determined to make him win since she made a bet with her old enemy.
I loved to follow this story. It’s true that the whole is not very original, and it follows the usual pattern of a relationship that begins on a secret, a romance is set in, the secret gets out, a big fight happens and a nice end to conclude. But this is not really a problem because the story is really nice to follow. Francesca is a young woman wounded by life, trying to be the best mother possible. She has a lot to give, does not really believe in love, yet her new TV show will perhaps change her opinion. Greg is a fairly clumsy boy, who is not sure of himself, and who doesn’t even know how to behave with women. He is very clumsy around Francesca yet something is created gradually between them, a touching link that will evolve little by little. It was very interesting to see Greg evolving, to see him change and realize that he was ultimately more than that.
So yes it was a pretty light story and I think that I want to read the first book now.
