Feature & Follow

Follow Friday is a blog hop Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read

Q: Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.
Well, I have a lot of books like that… It’s often the french covers for some books. Maybe I would say this one:

I realy enjoy the Pendergast series by Douglad Preston and Lincoln Child, but well, this french cover is terrible. there is always a great investigation with some paranormal stuff, really interesting!

  2. Wow, that is a bad cover!! I’m surprised; a lot of the time I really like the French cover art – I’ve even gone so far as to buy a French version of a book I already own because I like the cover so much! But I’d never buy this one! haha.

    • I think we can a lot of different covers, some are gorgeous and some not. What book did you buy? There are now some nice reprint of this book but my sister gave this one to me. Lucky me! lol

    • I like a lot of the French fantasy covers, which I suppose is odd as there aren’t all that many French authors who write in the genre! I like going to Decitre and Fnac to just look at the covers, heh. I adore the covers of Le nom du vent and L’homme-rune as well as the covers of the UF series La fille du soleil noir. They all have pretty decent English covers but the French ones deserved to be showcased too! Very lucky you! lol. It looks like a still taken from the movie – I saw it years ago and what I remember of it can be summed up in that one image! 😉

    • It’s true mainly in UF books. For now I think the best is Cassandra O’donnell. But I hope one day it will be the case. La fille du soleil noir has a beautiful cover! I prefer this one to the English one. I didn’t know the others, so thank you! I don’t remember if I saw the movie, but I’ve read a lot of books in this series, hopefully the reprints are better lol.

  3. Hi Melliaine 🙂
This cover looks like a low budget scary movie! Lol, I agree what an ugly cover. This cicer would definitely make me apprehensive about readung it. Lol.
Thanks for visiting my FF, sorry I’ve been MIA the last couple days girly! I’m back now!;)
