MoonBound Clan Vampires, Book 2
Synopsis: THE FUTURE OF HIS TRIBE
Leader of the vampire clan MoonBound, Hunter will do what he must to save his people from extinction – or worse, a torturous eternity as vampire slaves and subjects of human experimentation. To keep his enemies at bay, he has agreed to mate a rival clan leader’s daughter in return for peace between the clans and an ally in the looming war with the humans.
THE LOVER OF HIS SOUL
But survival comes at a price. First, Hunter must break an ancient curse by successfully negotiating three deadly tests. Then he must resist the searing passions of the gorgeous vampire warrior he despises but is bound to mate. Will Hunter stay true to his word? Or will he risk everything for the woman he really loves: the vampire seductress’s identical twin sister?
Review: I had a good time with the first volume and I confess that I was carried away by all the ideas of the author. So when I saw the release of the second novel, I was immediately intrigued. It must be said that we discover a little more about Aylin, the girl we had seen in the first volume, as well as about Hunter.
Rasha, the twin sister and heiress of the clan, was given in marriage to Hunter, head of the Moonbound clan. But things get complicated when Hunter understands that he will never feel anything for the young woman, and while one the contrary, her sister Aylin, seems to be the perfect woman for him. How to act? Should he ignore his feelings? But then when Aylin teams up with man so his first child would not be cursed, the time spent together is not going to fix things … or maybe things will work out too easily. As their relationship evolves, humans start to be an increasingly and persistent threat and it seems that the choice of Hunter could tumble on a war among the clans and which would be very difficult to recover from.
I loved to follow this story. Indeed, Aylin is a girl we can love very easily and we hope for her to be happy after all the events she had to go through. No, the young woman really did not have an easy childhood and her future does not seem brighter. She is a strong person and yet she is struggling to trust others, she can not believe all the nice things happening in her life, this, due to her deformity. It’s very sad to see her feelings but she will finally be able to flourish here and discover that she is actually much more than that. Her sister Rasha gives us a more difficult feeling. Her behavior is quite appalling and yet we can easily see that she loves Aylin and tries to protect her, even if it’s rather awkwardly. So it’s true that it’s hard to statuate about her, mainly due to her rapid mood changes as her as her thoughts. And then we have Hunter … the man who thought he was resigned over his future with Rasha and yet was surprised by his feelings for her sister. This is a character who has always tried to do the best for his clan, to keep everyone safe from the world … unfortunately, his new feelings could reduce it all to nothing.
It was very interesting to learn about all the protagonists and it’s true that I was delighted to see Nicole and Riker here, to see how they evolved in their lives. This is also why I am curious to read more now. A new good second volume!
