Manwhore by Katy Evans

Manwhore, Book 1

Synopsis: Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Review: I heard many times about Katy Evans’ novels, but it is true that this is the first time that I try one of her books. I did not know what to expect when I started the story but finally I had a great time!

Rachel is a journalist and has been working in the same company since graduating, but now the newspaper is dying and the only solution to relaunch sales seems to turn to the most prominent man in town: Malcolm Saint. But to make a feature article, Rachel will really have to get involved, especially when we know that this man does not accept interviews easily.

I loved the interactions between the two characters. Rachel never really knows how to behave and easily loses her means. It was very touching to see her wondering about the merits of her actions, to see her reflect on how she should act. It was also very touching to see her gradually fall under the charm of Saint, while keeping in mind that it is a monumental error. Yet, despite hersef, the nets close on her and her choices will become more and more difficult. Saint is a very complex man, he does not open easily to others and it is also why it is very difficult to know what he wants exactly. Of course, he’s used to have everything he wants but he’s going to change at Rachel’s touch. I appreciated the fact that he does not act abruptly, he does not take advantage of the situation but that he is waiting while trying to charm her.

It was a really nice reading and I confess that I did not see the end coming at the time. What if I told you that the novel ends up on a cliffhanger? Aaaaah I want the sequel right now! Just two more pages at least! I want to know! In short I think I’ll have to wait.

  1. oh I LOVED this book so much. Get book 2 NOW!! Its really really good. I waited till I got book 2 before I read these two books because I knew about the cliffhanger beforehand. So I was prepared for it. But Katy Evans is so great to work.

  2. I’m wondering if it might be a bit to steamy for me. 🙂 But so glad you enjoyed it, it does sound good. 🙂
