Cross + Catherine, Book 1

Synopsis: A Legacy Novel

A wild boy.
A sly girl.

Cross Donati defines trouble. He does what he wants because he’s never known anything different. He’s unapologetic, and he owns it.

Catherine Marcello is every bit a good girl … on the outside. Her entire world is a legacy, and she lives it. She’s curious, and she’s exploring it.

She chases bad things.
He never learned to be good.

They’re late nights, stolen cars, first times, fist fights, leather jackets, beaches, bloody smiles, and life.
They’re vicious and precious, dangerous and harmless, innocence and sin. They are love.

Love is killing for someone.
Love is living for someone.

Sometimes, you can’t keep saving your heart when it means sacrificing it, too.
Sometimes, you have to learn to save yourself.
Sometimes, love has to fall, crash, and burn.

This is what love is like when you’re a principe and principessa della mafia.
This is what love is like when you’re Cross Donati and Catherine Marcello.

Review: I must admit that I was really curious to read this novel after discovering Catherine and Cross in Andino + Haven.  So I must say that I was very happy to see that the author was releasing a complete series! A new possibility to know their whole history at once! I was delighted! So I started the series with the first volume: Always.

I must admit that I didn’t expect to find myself in the teenage years of our two heroes. We discover Catherine at 13 years old, Cross 15 years old and we will see them evolve over the years. Loving each other, but also hurting each other.

Both heirs of two great Mafia families, they should not be together, and yet fate has it otherwise. They are irresistibly attracted to each other even if sometimes everything separates them.

It was an intense, touching novel. Our two heroes have to go through a lot of challenges and many are really not easy. They will have to be able to move forward, forgive themselves, evolve, but it’s not easy either. They are both different, while Cross has always acted without regard to the consequences, Catherine is very careful about the image she reflects.

The end is not easy, but there were no other possibilities and I am really curious to see what will happen to our two lovers, to see how they will save themselves.

It’s a very good novel and I’m curious to read on! However, it should be noted that it is really a novel about their adolescence and it ends when they are respectively 18 and 20 years old.

  1. Glad the story about this couple didn’t disappoint. Sometimes I like it when an author takes it back to a teen romance if its done well. Hopefully, their on-going story will stay good for you.
