Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
What an interesting and difficult question. My problem is that I forget everything easily… And if it was for school they are all in french. Here is one I enjoyed: Au bonheur des Dames by Emile Zola. A beautiful book even if too many descriptions.

  1. I feel old by not remembering things from school because it was so long ago! I took French in school so I had to read a few things in French. Um, but I don’t remember anything except Je m’appelle Alisa & Je parle un peu de Francais, lol.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Followed you back :0)

  2. I know of Zola, of course, but haven’t actually read anything by him. We only had a few books we were required to read and got to choose the rest. I’ve been trying to recollect which books we were required to read, but cannot remember. I do remember choosing one of Molière’s plays for French though. Enjoyed it too.

  3. The book the I loved the most in school is actually a french book 🙂 Papillon by Henri Charrière. I was supposed to read it and write an essay. I had a month or something like that and I read it in a day. I remember that day I went to bed very late because I couldn’t put it down. A day later I gave the essay to my teacher and she couldn’t believe I had read it that fast.

  4. Going to school for an English degree, I am surprised I didn’t spend any time in French literature. I know my university has professors that specialize in French lit, but . . . Either way, I love the cover of the book.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
