Rocked by the Billionaire by Mandy Baxter

Billionaire’s Club, Book 3

Synopsis: Bad-boy Luke “Lucifer” Blackwell is living the life. Being the lead singer for the rock group Riot 59 has brought him everything he could ever want—billions of dollars, endless parties, and enough groupies to last a lifetime. But when Luke’s wild life starts to wear him down, he returns home to Texas—and ends up in the arms of the one woman who’s always made his heart beat faster than a pounding drum…Kayleigh Taylor likes being a small-town girl, so she’s always been wary of Luke Blackwell’s fast-paced life—and of Luke himself. Fully expecting never to see the sexy singer who broke her heart years before, Kayleigh is completely shocked to find him back home, avoiding the spotlight and pursuing her instead. Kayleigh knows this can’t be right–his heart was always devoted to his music. But as they spend more and more time together, Luke is awfully convincing that his heart belongs to someone else…

Review: And here it is the third novella about the last brother, Luke. I was quite curious to discover his own story after enjoying the two others.

Luke returns home in need of rest. Besides, him being at home means finding Ryder and Lara again. I was very happy to see the characters of the first volume even if they only have a few appearances. Yes, because the story is really about Luke and Kayleigh, the girl he left eight years ago to pursue a career in music. Yet as soon as he sees her, he knows that nothing is forgotten and he is determined to make her flinch at all costs.

I was so heartbroken for Kayleigh … She deeply loves Luke, but he hurt her more than possible. Moreover we want to shake him a few times so he can really realize the consequences of his actions. It’s difficult for the young woman not to succumb again, yet she also knows that she will not manage a new break.

It was a touching story and it’s true that we understand the distrust of the young woman, as well as her hopes. Can she really trust him? This is something that we wonder throughout the pages. But in any case, once again, Mandy Baxter presents a good romance and I am very happy to have had the opportunity to discover these three brothers.

  1. This sounds really interesting, Melliane! I agree that in many cases, even though you love someone, it’s just hard to trust them again especially after they hurt you deeply, because there’s always that lingering doubt if he will hurt you once more and you’ll be left vulnerable. I feel like I might just relate to this story… haha!

  2. I’m hesitant when it comes to romance focused ones, but it does sound fun, I do have a little love hate relationship with a series that go through the other characters with each book, mainly because I usually want more from the first couple it was focused on, haha.
