The Christmas Sisters by Sarah Morgan

Synopsis: In the snowy Highlands of Scotland, Suzanne McBride is dreaming of the perfect cozy Christmas. Her three adopted daughters are coming home for the holidays and she can’t wait to see them. But tensions are running high…

Workaholic Hannah knows she can’t avoid spending the holidays with her family two years in a row. But it’s not the weight of their expectations that’s panicking her—it’s the life-changing secret she’s hiding. Stay-at-home mom Beth is having a personal crisis. All she wants for Christmas is time to decide if she’s ready to return to work—seeing everyone was supposed to help her stress levels, not increase them! Posy isn’t sure she’s living her best life, but with her parents depending on her, making a change seems risky. But not as risky as falling for gorgeous new neighbor Luke…

As Suzanne’s dreams of the perfect McBride Christmas unravel, she must rely on the magic of the season to bring her daughters together. But will this new togetherness teach the sisters that their close-knit bond is strong enough to withstand anything—including a family Christmas?

Review: It’s always hard to resist a new Sarah Morgan book, so when I heard about it, I was very curious to discover the story!

The novel is divided between four points of view that alternate throughout the chapters. There is first Suzanne (the foster mother), Hannah, Beth and Posy. She loves her daughters a lot but this time of the year, Christmas, she is very anxious and it reminds her of the best friend she has lost, the parents of her daughters. Beth is a mother who has to manage her two little girls as she best as she can, but now, she wants more than anything to rework without knowing if this is possible. Hannah? Oh Hannah is full of anguish, she’s afraid to open up to others and if Adam tells her that he loves her? She is not sure, especially since she keeps a big secret. Posy? Posy never really left her home and even though she dreams about it, she knows it will be complicated because her mother is counting on her and she can not give up on her.

Yes, we discover three completely different young women and this is also why they evolve very far from each other. Yet Christmas is going to bring them together, and maybe this time they will be able to talk. They will be able to share and see that there is so much between them! They share their dreams, their hopes and their fears. They share their feelings and I took a great pleasure in discovering them. And how not to succumb to the charm of their halves? Luke, Adam and Jason are just as perfect!

It was a really nice Christmas story and I had a good time with the story and the characters!
