The Roommate Agreement by Emma Hart

Synopsis: Let your homeless best friend stay with you, he said. Being roommates will be fun, he said. It’s only temporary, he said.
He never said I’d fall for him.

You know what isn’t ‘temporary?’ The endless stream of dirty socks in my bathroom and empty food packets under the sofa—and don’t even get me started on the hot guys who take over my living room every Sunday to watch sports.
I can’t take anymore.
So I propose a roommate agreement. One that will bring peace and order back to my life, complete with rules that might just stop my newfound crush on my best friend in its tracks.
After all, there’s only so many times you can see your best friend naked before you start to lose your mind.

Rules. They’re meant to be broken… Aren’t they?

Review: I love Emma Hart and I look forward to every new novel. So you can imagine my joy when I saw that I was going to receive an ARC of this novel. I threw myself at it as soon as I got it and I must say that once again the author completely took me away.

This time, the author proposes a romance between best friends! They’ve known each other for 20 years and nothing ever happened. But now Jay is out on the street and since Shelby needs a roommate, he found it the ideal solution. It was supposed to last only a short time and yet he is still there.

Shelby and Jay are diametrically opposed. Really! So when an introverted girl and a boy who’s never had to make an effort live together… Well, it explodes! And it was great to see! Yes, because you see Jay, well, he likes to leave his stuff everywhere, especially his socks, even if Shelby keeps telling him to pick them up; he invites his friends to see the sport on TV and they drink and eat everything; and worst of all! YES, WORST OF ALL! He eats her Oreos! And Shelby and the Oreos, it is a love story, no one touches her cookies! Even her best friend! She is also a fan of Big Bang Theory (and so, we have a lot of references), she decides to make a roommate agreement like Sheldon. Because she can’t take it anymore! Worse still, she’s been attracted to him since he moved in with her, and this contract could help her frame her feelings… maybe.

As I said, I loved this novel! It was a pleasure to follow Jay and Shelby! Did I say that Shelby hears voices in her head and she writes? Did I tell you they’re both completely screwed up? They are both irresistible and I loved following them and discovering this story!

Yes, once again, the author offers us a great novel! And I look forward to reading more!
