Kiss Me Not by Emma Hart

Kiss Me, Book 1

Synopsis: What do you do when you’re the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend’s brother?

Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.
Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh-freakin’-uh.
I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain—making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.
Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.
He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.
I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign—no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:

Kiss me.

Review: I love Emma Hart! If you have seen my reviews of her books, you must know that. So I was really really curious to discover this novel as soon as I heard about its release. Because… well, you know… I love Emma Hart! Am I repeating myself? I’m sorry, but this is a very important point to raise! She always writes crazy and humorous romances and I’m always completely carried away.

Halley was never good with people. Even though she’s the mayor’s daughter, what she loves is her three best friends and  her raccoons! Yes, yes, you heard me right! All right, they’re wild, but they have a little name and she gives them peanut butter sandwiches every night. So I can tell you that she doesn’t like it at all when people denigrate her raccoons, whom she loves more than anything.

But now it’s time for the carnival and our heroine who loves to win is putting her champion title back into play for the kissing booth contest. Easy? Well, not so much when she learns that her opponent this year is none other than the city’s most coveted boy and her crush since her teenage years. So hearing him kissing women all day long? A hell of a place! But here’s the thing: if they seem to hate each other, it could well be that Preston is also attracted to the young woman.

Once again, I had a great time with this novel and I loved Preston and Halley or even the raccoons! It was a real pleasure to discover them and to follow them in this story! Besides I’m also very curious now to know the story of Ava and Reagan her best friends! They’re just as great! And did I tell you that we’re meeting Lauren and Mason, the heroes of one of the author’s previous novels? Very nice!

Yes, a great read!
