The Waking Engine – David Edison (US&CAN)

The Forever Song (Blood of Eden, 3) – Julie Kagawa

VENGEANCE WILL BE HERS

Allison Sekemoto once struggled with the question: human or monster?

With the death of her love, Zeke, she has her answer.

MONSTER

Allie will embrace her cold vampire side to hunt down and end Sarren, the psychopathic vampire who murdered Zeke. But the trail is bloody and long, and Sarren has left many surprises for Allie and her companions—her creator, Kanin, and her blood brother, Jackal. The trail is leading straight to the one place they must protect at any cost—the last vampire-free zone on Earth, Eden. And Sarren has one final, brutal shock in store for Allie.

In a ruined world where no life is sacred and former allies can turn on you in one heartbeat, Allie will face her darkest days. And if she succeeds, triumph is short-lived in the face of surviving forever alone.

Deep Blue (Waterfire Saga, 1) – Jennifer Donnelly

The first in a series of four epic tales set in the depths of the ocean, where six mermaids seek to protect and save their hidden world.

Deep in the ocean, in a world not so different from our own, live the merpeople. Their communities are spread throughout the oceans, seas, and freshwaters all over the globe.

When Serafina, a mermaid of the Mediterranean Sea, awakens on the morning of her betrothal, her biggest worry should be winning the love of handsome Prince Mahdi. And yet Sera finds herself haunted by strange dreams that foretell the return of an ancient evil. Her dark premonitions are confirmed when an assassin’s arrow poisons Sera’s mother. Now, Serafina must embark on a quest to find the assassin’s master and prevent a war between the Mer nations. Led only by her shadowy dreams, Sera searches for five other mermaid heroines who are scattered across the six seas. Together, they will form an unbreakable bond of sisterhood and uncover a conspiracy that threatens their world’s very existence.

  1. I will be shocked, shocked I tell you, if The Forever Song wasn’t on nearly everyone’s STS posting this week. I just hope that nobody spills the beans on Zeke’s current status, although I can basically guess already. Hope you enjoy your books!

  2. Niiice! I was beyond ecstatic when I saw Netgalley had The Forever Song and even more psyched when they approved me! Started it yesterday and got a little over halfway through! Loving it! Hope you enjoy your reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. Deep Blue looks so pretty. I’ve seen that on Net Galley but I’m a little wary of mermaid stories. Jennifer Donnelly though…

I still haven’t read Julie Kagawa’s new series. One of these days, I really should.

    Wonderful haul, Melliane.

  4. I’ve seen The Forever Song all over the place this past week, and that’s from one of the series that I have all the books for (all two of them, lol), but haven’t read yet. I’ll work on that. AND Deep Blue looks fabulous. I can’t wait to hear what you think about it!

  5. I haven’t heard of either of these books, but I have seen both of them on sever STS posts this week. I will definitely have to check them out on goodreads.

I hope you enjoy them!! Thanks for stopping by my STS 🙂
