Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy, 1) – Danielle L. Jensen

For those who have loved Seraphina and Graceling comes another truly fabulous fantasy…For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.

But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.

As Cécile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer’s daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever.

  1. Hantée me tente depuis un moment, du coup j’attendrais avec un grand plaisir ta chronique pour savoir si je me laisserais finalement tenter ! 🙂

Et la couverture de Stolen Songbird est sublime *u*

Bonnes lectures et bon weekend ! 🙂

  2. Stolen Songbird has a great cover. If I read fantasy books I might even have been tempted by the story but I’m not really into them now. I really hope you enjoy it. Nice to see trolls being used more in fiction! Enjoy your books!

  3. OOOh nice! I loved The Name of the Star! Still need to read the second one before the third one comes out! And oooh Stolen Songbird! Still need to read that one too! Great haul! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  4. Melliane! It is me Michelle from Novels On The Run, I am so sorry I haven’t been around a lot. I wrote a book and released it back 9th October and it has stolen so much of my time and writing the second one in the series. ( A Little Faith by Emma James ) .

I still run my blog too so, I am like a busy bumble bee.

I am trying hard to get around to everybody’s blogs again and say hi and see what you are all reading and doing. <3

Love the cover to Stolen Songbird and it sounds wonderful. I have Name of The Star and simply haven't read it. I thought that cover and author was familiar. I can't read French but I think that is the Jack The Ripper one without looking it up. I'm going on memory.

Have a wonderful Christmas hun and I will be making sure I pop around to everybody I have gone MIA on in the future.

    xx

  5. Very interesting stuff this week, looks different and that’s why it stood out, especially the first two titles. Stolen Songbird was a great YA read, and if I recall correctly I think the second book is going to be pubbed by Angry Robot themselves after their YA imprint Strange Chemistry closed? I hope so, I’d like to know what happens after.

  6. I keep hearing lots of amazing thing about Stolen Songbird and I’m really tempted to read it… Plus, I agree with the others, the cover is gorgeous!
Hope you enjoy every book, Melliane! 🙂

  7. J’ai déjà lu “Hanté”…tu me fais penser qu’il faut que je m’achète le 2…J’avais bien aimé mais sans plus, j’espère qu’il te plaira mieux !
(En fait j’avais été déçue vers la fin…)
