Dive Smack – Demetra Brodsky

Theo Mackey only remembers one thing for certain about the fire that destroyed his home: he lit the match.

Sure, it was an accident. But the blaze killed his mom and set his dad on a path to self-destruction. Everything else about that fateful night is full of gaping holes in Theo’s mind, for good reason. Maybe it’s better that way. As captain of the Ellis Hollow Diving Team, with straight A’s and solid friends, he’s only one semester away from securing a scholarship, and leaving his past behind.

But when a family history project gets assigned at school, new memories come rushing to the surface, memories that make him question what he really knows about his family, the night of the fire, and if he can trust anyone—including himself.

Why not Me – Ashley Erin

“He didn’t choose me, and now he wants his second chance.”

Allie Vincent has a good life. All of her boxes are checked off.
Sweet boyfriend? Check.
Awesome job? Check.
Great friends? Check.
Life is going according to plan. That is until the man who broke her heart seven years ago comes crashing back into her life.

Suddenly those checked boxes no longer seem important.
Her once neat life is now in turmoil as she’s caught between a past love and a current one.
A choice between two men.
One is her best friend and partner for the past six years.
The other makes her heart race, but he left her shattered.
One is safe, secure.
The other is a risk she doesn’t know if she’s willing to take . . . again.

Blood Orbit (Gattis File, 1) – K.R. Richardson

Eric Matheson, an idealistic rookie cop trying to break from his powerful family, is plunged into the investigation of a brutal crime in his first weeks on the job in Angra Dastrelas, the corrupt capital city of the corporate-owned planet Gattis. A newcomer to the planet, Matheson is unaware of the danger he’s courting when he’s promoted in the field to assist the controversial Chief Investigating Forensic Officer, Inspector J. P. Dillal, the planet’s first cybernetically enhanced investigator. Coming from a despised ethnic underclass, the brilliant and secretive Dillal seems determined to unravel the crime regardless of the consequences. The deeper they dig, the more dangerous the investigation becomes. But in a system where the cops enforce corporate will, instead of the law, the solution could expose Gattis’s most shocking secrets and cost thousands of lives–including Matheson’s and Dillal’s.

Love, Simon – Becky Albertalli

Moi, c’est Simon. Simon Spier.

    Bonnes futures lectures 🙂
