Concrete Savior by Yvonne Navarro (VO)

Dark Redemption, Book 2

Synopsis : They say no good deed goes unpunished, Brynna Malak is living proof.

A fallen angel in human form, Brynna is trying to earn another chance at heaven. So far, her road to redemption is littered with casualties, especially since Lucifer’s minions are intent on dragging her back to hell. And being mortal only got more complicated since Brynna became involved with Detective Eran Redmond.

Still, Brynna’s relationship issues—like the fact that one glimpse of her can drive men crazy with desire—may have to wait. A mysterious “hero” is saving Chicago’s citizens from certain death, with strange and sinister consequences. Brynna knows too much about demonkind to believe in coincidences. Some dark force is at work here, and Brynna may be the only one who can stop it…

Review :
This novel was very great ! On can see a Brynna who adapts herself in the world she lives with humans.

She lives now with Eran who wishes only one thing : be with her. We learn a little more about him when his brother he didn’t know come to his house, one day to meet his family.
Brynna will be lead one more time in a new story full of demons and nephilims. A curious new hero appears and saves the life of many persons but nobody nor the cops neither the media know anything about him. But when the victims become after that, themselves, killers, Brynna is very intrigued about what happens. She will try to find the reason of this fact with the help of Eran.
She will fall in a story initiated by an old friend, a demon she knows from her past.
However, Lucifer doesn’t give up on Brynna and he is determined to find her and bring her back at his side.
Action is omnipresent in this book and we never get bored. The handwriting is fluid and the plot is very interesting with all these new characters. I’m very curious to know what Lucifer will do at the end, when he will inderstand that the hunters don’t bring her back to him.

  1. I still need to read the first book in this series — it sounds SO good! I love books about some sort of angel/demon rivalry, and I also love ones filled with action! This is a win-win! 🙂

Awesome review, Melliane! I’m so glad that you liked this one — I really need to pick it up!

  2. @ Melissa : we don’t see the devil but he is always behind the story. I think we will see him soon ! I’m so curious to see how he is !

@Mary : I do hope you will like it if you read it too ! Thanks for stopping by.

@ Mimi Valentine : I think the first one is very nice too with the Brynna adaptation in a world she doesn’t know anything about. I do hope you will like it ! Thanks !
