Two Witches and a Whiskey by Annette Marie

The Guild Codex: Spellbound, Book 3

Synopsis: Three months ago, I landed a job as a bartender. But not at a bar—at a guild. Yeah, the magic kind.

I’m not a badass mage like my three smokin’ hot best friends. I’m not a sorcerer or an alchemist, or even a wussy witch. I’m just a human, slinging drinks like a pro and keeping my non-magical nose out of mythic business. Seriously, I know my limits.

So why am I currently standing in a black-magic ritual circle across from a fae lord?

Somewhere behind me, my three mage friends are battling for their lives. Somewhere near my feet is the rogue witch I just knocked out with a stolen spell. And I have about five seconds to convince this very angry sea god not to shmoosh me like a bug.

I’m pretty sure this wasn’t part of the job description.

Note: The three mages are definitely sexy, but this series isn’t a reverse harem. It’s 100% fun, sassy, fast-paced urban fantasy.

Review: I had really had a great time with the first two novels and I was delighted to discover this sequel! It was a very beautiful discovery again!

We are directly following the previous volume and it seems that our heroine is facing many new problems. The supernatural police is looking for her, which is already very annoying, but in addition to that, she thwarts an attack, but unfortunately she finds herself tied to a fae lord.

I don’t really want to say any more because it’s a pleasure to discover the author’s plot and ideas. I was also delighted to see all the characters… Yes, even Zak! We’ll also learn a little more about Kai and Ezra, so what more can we ask for?

I had a really good time again and I was looking forward to discovering what the author was going to propose to us. The ending is surprising, joyful and sad at the same time. I’m even happier because the series was supposed to be a trilogy, and a volume 4 is coming soon! I would have been really sad to stop it there, because it’s a story I really like.

Plenty of crazy situations, endless problems, a human heroine but who is determined to act, and especially some faes and men we love!
