The Skeleton in the Closet by Angie Fox

Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries, Book 2

Synopsis: A haunted library is no place for a girl who can see ghosts, but when Verity Long stumbles on a dead body in the middle of the main reading room, she has to believe someone… even a dead someone… must have witnessed the crime.

Her ghostly sidekick Frankie warns her to stay out of it. The very alive, very handsome deputy sheriff, Ellis Wydell, inadvertently places her directly in the middle of it. And her ex-fiancé, Ellis’s brother, is back with an agenda of his own.

Undaunted, Verity presses forward, uncovering scandalous secrets, long-forgotten ghosts, and a shocking trail of clues that places her directly in the path of a killer.

Review: I really liked the first volume and the first chapter of this second volume made me want to discover the rest of our dear Verity’s adventures!

Beau is back! Well, we knew it, but he’s determined to get Verity back! As for her, she wants to do everything she can to keep him away from her house. And then there’s always Ellis, so she doesn’t care about the rest. But here we are, at a memorial in town, our heroine and her sister Melody will fall on Darla’s body, which will make them the main suspects.

I really had a really good time again with this novel and I must admit that I didn’t expect to see Josephine so soon, which was really nice too! But our heroine will also meet new ghosts that are very easy to appreciate and I hope we will see them too later! The story with Ellis is evolving a little bit even if it’s still complicated and the end won’t help to fix all that, let’s face it.

I quickly suspected the murderer but it was nice to follow the story and to discover the whole gang in a new adventure! I can’t wait to read on!
