Review: You all know that I read all the novels by Keri Arthur with pleasure. I had kept this one for some time (since my reading of Volume 1 a few years ago), and I was waiting for the right moment to start it! I really enjoyed the previous novel and I was curious to follow Neva’s sister this time!

Savannah always keeps in her the pain of the man she loved several years ago. She had found herself at the center of a series of murders and believed that she had found love with the man who was investigating it until she realized that she was only a pawn to find the killer. But now, years later, being a ranger, she is witnessing new murders that are strangely similar to those that happened before. How is it possible while the culprit is dead for a long time? The problem is that these events also revive a pain she thought was buried and feelings she thought forgotten when Cade, her former lover, arrives in town to investigate the case.

The relationship between Cade and Savannah is quite tumultuous. They do not trust each other and are suspicious of the other, while having feelings that they can not handle well. But now, their old promise forces them to try to understand what is happening. Will Cade trust Sav to see if their relationship can go beyond a mere obligation? Our two heroes will have to manage all the consequences of their past while trying to catch the killer before there are more victims!

It was a good new story and I was delighted to find Neva from time to time in the story, as well as some other characters! I am always pleased with Keri Arthur’s novels.

Avis : Vous savez tous que je lis avec plaisir tous les romans de Keri Arthur. J’avais gardé celui-ci depuis quelques temps (depuis ma lecture du tome 1 il y a quelques années), et j’attendais le bon moment pour me lancer ! J’avais d’ailleurs vraiment beaucoup apprécié le roman précédent et j’étais curieuse de suivre la sœur de Neva cette fois-ci !

Savannah garde toujours en elle la peine d’amour qu’elle a eue il y a plusieurs années. En effet, elle s’était retrouvée au centre d’une série de meurtres et croyait avoir trouvé l’amour avec l’homme qui enquêtait à ce sujet, jusqu’à ce qu’elle se rende compte qu’elle n’était qu’un pion pour retrouver le tueur. Mais voilà, des années plus tard, devenue maintenant Ranger, elle assiste à de nouveaux meurtres qui ressemblent étrangement à ceux qui s’étaient déroulés précédemment. Comment est-ce possible alors que le coupable est mort depuis longtemps ? Le problème, c’est ce que ces évènements ravivent aussi une peine qu’elle pensait enfouie et des sentiments qu’elle pensait oubliés quand Cade, son ancien amant, arrive en ville pour reprendre l’affaire.

La relation entre Cade et Savannah est assez tumultueuse. Ils ne se font pas confiance et se méfient de l’autre, tout en ayant des sentiments qu’ils ne savent pas bien gérer. Mais voilà, leur ancienne promesse les force à essayer de comprendre ce qu’il se passe. Cade fera-t-il confiance à Sav pour voir si leur relation peut aller plus loin qu’une simple obligation ? Nos deux héros vont donc devoir gérer toutes les conséquences de leur passé tout en essayant d’attraper le tueur avant qu’il n’y ait plus de victimes !

C’était une nouvelle bonne histoire et j’étais ravie de retrouver Neva de temps en temps dans l’histoire, ainsi que quelques autres personnages ! Je suis toujours ravie des romans de Keri Arthur.

Synopsis: Harriet Phillecky is a rare part elf, part siren and wanted by neither race. Not that she really cares. A successful news photographer turned paranormal investigator, she now has a ‘family’ of friends that includes ogres who constantly raid her refrigerator and take over her TV, and a dragon who drinks far too much for his own good.

But when the only elvan relative she has any contact with asks her to investigate the disappearance of a siren, she finds herself unable to refuse.

All too quickly the disappearance becomes murder, relatives come out of the woodwork, and a man she’d much rather forget steps back into her life. Harri wants nothing more than to run—especially when the evidence beats a path to the doors of those who’d long ago abandoned her. But when the life she’s created for herself comes under threat, Harri has little choice but to hunt down a killer—before everything she holds dear is destroyed.

Review: I’m always happy to read Keri Arthur’s novels, and when I saw she was re-releasing Who Needs Enemies, how surprised I was to see that I had not read it yet! So I rushed to order it and I did not wait long to start it! I must say that I really loved it!

Keri Arthur presents us a story a little different from what she had accustomed us and it is true that it is a really a good surprise! However, I am a little sad to know that there is no follow-up for the moment but I really hope that this will happen one day. We discover Harriet said Harry, a young woman half mermaid, half elf but excluded from both communities. Fortunately for her, she has loyal friends who are her family and who, even if they are very invasive, are always there for her. But now, her little quiet life is interrupted when her uncle asks her for help. Indeed, it seems that the mermaid he had taken for mistress has disappeared and he hopes that Harry can help him find her! But this story will be much more delicate and dangerous than expected when Mona is found dead. Now looking for the killer, our heroine will catch the eye of unsavory people, starting with her family. On top of that, her dragon friend is arrested for murder after colliding with a helicopter. The problem is that he does not remember anything! Yet Harry is determined to discover the truth and especially to prevent him from going to prison.

I loved the story and had a hard time letting it go before finishing it. The investigation is fascinating and I admit that I did not expect so many reversals of situations! It is also easy to connect to the characters even if there is still much more to discover, be it her brother Val, her ogre friends, Keale the dragon, Ceri her business partner or even Maggie. And of course, there is Kaij … her old lover is back in town and it’s very difficult to know what he wants now. Yet we feel perfectly well that something very complicated exists between them and even if we understand some bits of the story, I really liked to understand what exactly happened.

You probably understand that I had a great time with this novel and I really cross my fingers so for a sequel one day !!!!!

Photographe de presse prospère devenue enquêteuse paranormale, elle a maintenant une «famille» d’amis qui comprend des ogres qui font constamment irruption dans son réfrigérateur et s’emparent de sa télévision, et un dragon qui boit beaucoup trop pour son propre bien.

Mais quand le seul parent elfique avec qui elle a un contact lui demande d’enquêter sur la disparition d’une sirène, elle se trouve incapable de refuser.

Trop rapidement, la disparition devient un meurtre, des membres de sa famille sortent de l’ombre et un homme qu’elle préfère oublier revient dans sa vie. Harri ne veut rien de plus que de s’enfuir, surtout quand les évidences l’amène vers ceux qui l’ont abandonnée depuis longtemps. Mais quand la vie qu’elle a créée est menacée, Harri n’a pas d’autres choix que de traquer le tueur – avant que tout ce qui lui tient à cœur soit détruit.

Avis : Je suis toujours ravie de lire les romans de Keri Arthur et quand j’ai vu qu’elle ressortait Who Needs Enemies, qu’elle a été ma surprise de voir que je ne l’avais pas lu ! Je me suis donc précipitée pour le commander et je n’ai pas attendu longtemps pour le commencer ! Je dois dire que j’ai d’ailleurs vraiment adoré !

Keri Arthur nous présente une histoire un peu différente de ce à quoi elle nous avait habituée et c’est vrai que c’est vraiment une bonne surprise ! Je suis cependant un peu triste de savoir qu’il n’y a pas de suite pour le moment mais j’espère vraiment que ce sera le cas un jour. Nous découvrons ainsi Harriet dit Harry, une jeune femme moitié sirène, moitié elfe mais exclue des deux communautés. Heureusement pour elle, elle a des amis fidèles qui font lieu de famille et qui, même s’ils sont très envahissants, sont toujours là pour elle. Mais voilà, sa petite vie tranquille est interrompue quand son oncle lui demande son aide. En effet, il semblerait que la sirène qu’il avait prise pour maîtresse a disparu et il espère qu’Harry pourra l’aider à la retrouver ! Mais cette histoire va se retrouver bien plus délicate et dangereuse que prévu quand Mona est retrouvée morte. Recherchant maintenant le tueur, notre héroïne va s’attirer le regard de personnes peu recommandables, à commencer par sa famille. En plus de cela, son ami dragon a été arrêté pour meurtre après être entré en collision avec un hélicoptère. Le souci c’est qu’il ne se rappelle de rien ! Pourtant Harry est bien décidée à découvrir la vérité et surtout à éviter qu’il aille en prison.

J’ai beaucoup aimé l’histoire et j’ai eu beaucoup de mal à la lâcher avant de l’avoir finie. L’enquête est fascinante et j’avoue que je ne m’attendais pas à tant de retournements de situations ! On s’attache aussi facilement aux personnages même s’il reste encore beaucoup à découvrir, que ce soit son frère Val, ses amis ogres, Keale le dragon, Ceri sa partenaire d’affaire ou même Maggie. Et puis bien sûr, il y a Kaij… son ancien amant est de retour en ville et c’est très difficile de savoir ce qu’il désire à présent. Pourtant on sent parfaitement que quelque chose de très compliqué existe entre eux et même si on comprend quelques bribes de l’histoire, j’aimerais beaucoup comprendre ce qu’il s’est passé exactement.

Vous avez surement compris que j’ai passé un excellent moment avec ce roman et je croise vraiment très fort les doigts pour qu’une suite soit un jour publiée !!!!!

Lizzie Grace, Book 1

It’s a hunt that soon becomes personal, and one that is going to take all her skills to survive–that’s if the werewolves, who hate all things witch, don’t get her first.

Review: I love Keri Arthur and if you know me, you know that I read all her novels with pleasure! So I was really curious to get into this new series!

So we discover Belle and Lizzie, two young witches who hide their powers while evolving in society. But then, their lives will be changed when a woman comes to the cafe asking for help. Indeed, her daughter has disappeared and she hopes that Lizzie can help her find her. Alas, too late, she will help this mother to find the killer. Unfortunately, this killer does not seem to be ordinary and finding him may well be much more dangerous than expected. Moreover, the rangers of the werewolves reserve do not want to have her in the paws and worse still they hate witches! And yet, Lizzie is destined to cross the road of Ranger O’Connor, who although very sexy, makes her very quickly understand that he does not like and does not trust her.

I really had a good time with this novel. The investigation was very well mastered and we are easily carried away by the plot. Lizzie is a suspicious young woman who does not manage to ignore the problems of others and although she knows that it can end badly for her, she does not hesitate to do everything. I really enjoyed seeing her determination and her weaknesses and it was a pleasure to learn a bit more about her past even though I’m really curious to know more. Her encounter with O’Connor is quite explosive but we understand that it is not very simple for him, even if he tries to put his doubts aside. I admit that this man has all of the alpha and I would love to learn more about him. (Well I want to learn more about all the characters so it does not help!). And there is Belle, Lizzie’s familiar. What would our heroine do without her? I wonder about that! Belle is very nice and sweet and although she is also determined, she really contrasts with the other characters.

You understand that I had a good time with this first novel. The main investigation ends but many points are initiated throughout the story and I look forward to learning more!

Lizzie Grace, Tome 1

Bien que née dans une des familles les plus puissantes de sorcières de sang bleu, elle ne veut rien avoir à faire avec son passé ou sa magie.

Mais quand elle et Belle, son familier humain et sa meilleure amie, ouvrent un petit café dans la réserve de Loups-garous de Faelan, elle se retrouve rapidement entraînée dans une chasse de vampire qui tente de faire des ravages. C’est une chasse qui devient bientôt personnelle, et qui va lui demander d’utiliser toutes ses compétences pour survivre – ou en tout cas si les loups-garous, qui haïssent toutes les sorcières, ne l’attrapent pas d’abord.

Avis : J’adore Keri Arthur et si vous me connaissez, vous savez que je lis tous ses romans avec plaisir ! J’étais donc vraiment très curieuse de me lancer dans cette toute nouvelle série !

Nous découvrons donc Belle et Lizzie, deux jeunes sorcières qui cachent leurs pouvoirs en évoluant dans la société. Mais voilà, leur vie va être bouleversée quand une femme se présente dans le café en leur demandant de l’aide. En effet, sa fille a disparue et elle espère que Lizzie pourra l’aider à la retrouver. Hélas, arrivée trop tard, elle va aider cette mère à retrouver le tueur. Malheureusement, ce tueur ne semble pas ordinaire et le retrouver pourrait bien être bien plus dangereux que prévu. De plus, il semblerait que les rangers de la réserve, des loups-garous, ne semblent pas vouloir l’avoir dans les pattes et pire encore ils détestent les sorcières ! Et pourtant, Lizzie est destinée à croiser la route de du ranger O’Connor, qui bien que très sexy, lui fait très vite comprendre qu’il ne l’aime pas et ne lui fait pas confiance.

J’ai vraiment passé un bon moment avec ce roman. L’enquête était très bien maitrisée et on se laisse facilement happer par l’intrigue. Lizzie est une jeune femme méfiante mais qui ne parvient pas à passer outre les problèmes des autres et même si elle sait que ça peut se terminer difficilement pour elle, elle n’hésite pas à tout donner. J’ai beaucoup aimé voir sa détermination, ainsi que ses faiblesses et c’était un plaisir d’en apprendre un peu sur son passé même si je suis vraiment curieuse d’en savoir plus. Sa rencontre avec O’Connor est assez explosive mais on comprend que ce n’est pas très simple pour lui, même s’il essaie de mettre ses doutes de côté. J’avoue que cet homme a tout de l’alpha viril et j’aimerais beaucoup en apprendre plus aussi à son sujet. (Bon je veux en apprendre plus au sujet de tous les personnages donc ça n’aide pas !). Et il y a Belle, le familier de Lizzie. Que ferait notre héroïne sans elle ? Je me le demande bien ! Belle est très agréable et très douce et même si elle est aussi déterminée, elle contraste vraiment avec les autres personnages.

Vous l’avez compris, j’ai passé un bon moment avec ce premier roman. L’enquête principale se termine mais de nombreux points sont initiés tout au long du récit et je suis impatiente d’en savoir plus !

Forced to reach out to the Paranormal Investigations Team for help, Emberly and her partner, Jackson, must decide who to trust as they follow the trail of dead bodies. When classified information is leaked and their safe house is ambushed, Emberly’s suspicions are confirmed–someone at PIT has betrayed them.

A final battle looms and Emberly will need to command all her powers–or watch the world turn to ash….

Review: I always love all the novels by Keri Arthur and I was very curious to discover this third part of the adventures of our dear characters.

Always looking for the researches on the virus that everyone dreams of recovering, our heroes will once again face a lot of dangers. Rory resurrected, Emberly and Jackson have to go back to investigate before there are more murders. Yet, everyone is watching them and nothing is really that simple.

The enemies increase, others will become allies on a temporary basis and the allies may well reserve bad surprises. Indeed, it seems that the PIT has a mole who always manages to prevent Em and Jackson from getting a head start. Then, of course, there is also Sam … It is very difficult to decide in relation to this character whose nature is really changing but I confess that I am curious to see after the end of this novel how the story will evolve.

It was a nice novel to read and the author offers us new turns of situation that I did not expect. I confess that I am curious to see the consequences of all that was initiated here!
