A second chance romance serial
Synopsis: Lust has always been the emotion of choice; love nothing more than a silly game played by delusional fools.
Lisa Parks has been successful at everything she touches, her confidence her calling card. A recent move to Maine from New York is just the change of atmosphere she needs for a fresh start. With far too many mistakes in her past, her eyes remain focused on loving and leaving, her actions justified by far too many cracks in her damaged heart.
Marc Martin is living the dream, his college being paid for and his sights set on great things. In a quick turnaround trip to help his older sister Kari move to Maine after heartbreak, Marc meets the woman that just might be his match. Lust has been a reoccurring theme in his life, and he has no plans of changing that. He is young and free, handsome and ready to set the world on fire, and finds that he is justified in breaking hearts everywhere he goes. Besides, love is a game played by many and truly won by few.
No way would he ever consider settling down or letting someone into his heart. That is… until he meets Lisa.
Review / Part 1: Lisa is trying to figure out how she feels about Marc, her best friend’s brother. She tries to stay distracted by working and dating but can’t stop thinking of him. She finally decides to go back to New York to visit her mother for her birthday and see what will happen with Marc.
The story has a good plot, is fast paced and well written. The hot scenes are really passionate, you could see the alchemy between Marc and Lisa.
It’s a quick read with a cliffhanger end and like me, you will want the book 2 right now !!
Part 2 : Lisa and Marc’s story continues in book 2.
Lisa is back to Maine and is stuck in bed crying. Mark is in New York and can’t stop thinking of her.
Kali convinces Mark to come in Maine to resolve the situation.
Well, I can’t say more without spoiling 🙂 I can say that it ends with a cliffhanger (again I know) and you will need the part 3 right after reading part 2 (again I know). So if you haven’t buy it yet, I advise you to buy the full serie directly, it’s less painful than waiting for the next part.
Part 3: Last part of Lisa and Mark’s story.
Lisa is heartbroken that Marc didn’t give her a chance to explain what he saw. Mark is hurt, he doesn’t understand how she could cheat on him and they are therefore unable to move on.
Lisa’s friends convince her to make the first move and so she goes to New York to explain the truth to Mark.
You’ll need to read to know more about the end 🙂
I have loved to read this story and I think I will read more of Ali Parker in the future.
They sound good! But ahhh why can’t they be in one book? That kills me. But you do tempt with them.
You have the full serie : http://amzn.to/1SJkhm5 😀 Happy reading !
I kind of like that this was done in parts, it sounds like a fun story!
Yes, three quick read books, it’s great in summer 🙂
I’v enever read any of her books, but I know people really enjoy them. I’ll have to give this series a try!
I don’t know when but I will read Jaded and Baited 😉
it’s been a while since I read a serial, not a huge fan…but oh how you tempt me!!
It’s 3 “little” books. The number total of pages is about 170 pages. If you take the “full serie”, it’s like a stand alone novel 😉
I’m not a big fan of cheating in books, so I’m hoping there’s a great explanation for what Marc saw too Cass! I’m guessing everything works out in the end which is always a win for me:) Thanks for the reviews!
Don’t worry, it’s a misunderstanding between Marc and Lisa 😉
Love the telegraphic style. Sounds entertaining. Not big on the cheating bit though… Great reviews 🙂
Lovely review! 🙂 I’m glad Lisa got stronger in the end but it’s messed up that she was cheated on. I’m not a big fan of that stuff–it really turns me off from a book. But in the end of the heroine can stand up and be strong, it kind of makes the worod of difference for me. 🙂
Thank you 🙂 Lisa wasn’t cheated on. Mark think that she cheated on him because he saw something, but it’s a misunderstanding 🙂
I have decided that I don’t have much patience with serials as the cliffhangers always get me. I usually wait until all the parts are out. I will have to look this one up, it sounds great.
Ack! But did she actually cheat though? I don’t think I can handle the truth. Lol.
Don’t worry, it’s a misunderstanding 🙂
Great review! Sadly, I think i shall skip this one.
I don’t really like when books are separated into parts, but this sounds good.
