Eleventh Grave in Moonlight by Darynda Jones

Charley Davidson, Book 11

Synopsis: A typical day in the life of Charley Davidson involves cheating husbands, missing people, errant wives, philandering business owners, and oh yeah…demons, hell hounds, evil gods, and dead people. Lots and lots of dead people. As a part time Private Investigator and full-time Grim Reaper, Charley has to balance the good, the bad, the undead, and those who want her dead. In this eleventh installment, Charley is learning to make peace with the fact that she is a goddess with all kinds of power and that her own daughter has been born to save the world from total destruction. But the forces of hell are determined to see Charley banished forever to the darkest corners of another dimension. With the son of Satan himself as her husband and world-rocking lover, maybe Charley can find a way to have her happily ever after after all.

Review: I liked the last two volumes but something was missing for me in contrast of the other novels. So I was curious to see how the story was going to be this time and I must say that I am once again charmed. I finally found my little more with pleasure!

Charley tries hard to manage her new condition and to find out where to place herself in this world she could conquer. It is not easy when you know that everyone is watching her and hopes for her to do something wrong in order to exile her in another dimension. But then, on top of that, Charley has to deal with many other problems. First of all, her uncle seems to hide something serious and tries to force her to stay at home safely. I confess that I was really curious to know what was really going on, and I did not expect such a revelation. A new case also appears for Charley and Shawn, Reyes half-brother, asks for help to discover the identity of his biological parents. But just like Reyes, Shawn is far from being an ordinary human and this investigation will focus on the Foster, this strange couple and our heroine will discover the terrible truth that her husband hid from her. Yet even Reyes did not expect to discover so much about this family. Something else? Another god is determined to find Beep and Amber seems harassed and pursued by someone.

It was a really interesting story and I let myself be carried away easily from the first chapter. We understand perfectly the doubts of our heroine in relation to everything that happens to her and yet, she will take her courage with both hands to advance. This story also allows us to learn more about the past of Reyes and I confess that it is always something exciting.

You can understand that I had a great time with the story and I can not wait to read more!
