Charley Davidson, Book 13
Synopsis: Grim Reaper Charley Davidson is back in the final installment of Darynda Jones’ New York Times bestselling paranormal series!
Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper extraordinaire, is pissed. She’s been kicked off the earthly plain for eternity – which is the appropriate amount of time to make a person starkraving mad. But someone’s looking out for her, and she’s allowed to return after a mere hundred years in exile. Is it too much to hope for that not much has changed? Apparently it is. Bummer.
She’s missed Reyes and her daughter, Beep, but now that she’s back on earth, it’s time to put to rest burning questions that need answers. What happened to her mother? How did she really die? Who killed her? And are cupcakes or coffee the best medicine? It all comes to a head in an epic showdown between good and evil in this final smart and hilarious novel.
Review: I really like this series very, very much, so I was looking forward to this last volume with great anticipation! It’s sad, and at the same time, I was curious to see what the author was going to cook for us.
Charley has been exiled for hundreds of years in a parallel dimension, so she is very surprised when she is back on earth and that only 10 days have passed. But she did not expect the previous events to have left so many terrible consequences, for which she is largely responsible. In addition to that, she learned during her absence that, to contain the current crisis, she had to learn what happened when her mother died giving her birth.
I once again really enjoyed this novel and even if I don’t want to reveal too much, I loved learning a little more about Charley’s mother. Our heroes have to face a battle that will not be easy, while managing everyday life that is not easy either, it must be said.
It was as always a very good reading and I was delighted to see all the characters again. I am very curious to discover more about the universe and to discover the spin off of the series!
Yes! There were some amazing discoveries in this book. I look forward to Beep’s series.
me too!
I just felt it was so unfinished
yeah but as she is continuing with Beep, it wasn’t a conclusion for me
I really want to read these books….I might try book one this year and see how Ilike it!!!
yes!!!
I need to re-read my Netgalley copy so I can post a review! I love and hate this instalment: for one, it’s finished. For another, can’t wait for the resulting series that’s coming up.
yes! the end isn’t really there so we still wait for more
I feel for Charley!!
I am waiting for the audiobook copy. I cannot wait for this one, even though I am sad that it is the last. I am happy you said that there is a spinoff series coming!
I want to get started with this series very soon! Glad you enjoyed this installment.
I loved this and the only reason I am not in a fetal position is because we will get Beep’s story.
me too
It’s amazing how this series is still going strong!
Am I the only one who have not read this series? I need to change this.
I enjoyed this series. It does feel a bit up in the air. Sad but I know she will write more fun things for us. Nice review. Anne – Books of My Heart
