With This Heart by R.S. Grey

Synopsis:  If someone had told me a year ago that I was about to fall in love, go on an epic road trip, ride a Triceratops, sing on a bar, and lose my virginity, I would have assumed they were on drugs.

Well, that is, until I met Beckham.

Beck was mostly to blame for my recklessness. Gorgeous, clever, undeniably charming Beck barreled into my life as if it were his mission to make sure I never took living for granted. He showed me that there were no boundaries, rules were for the spineless, and a kiss was supposed to happen when I least expected.

Beck was the plot twist that took me by surprise. Two months before I met him, death was knocking at my door. I’d all but given up my last scrap of hope when suddenly, I was given a second chance at life. This time around, I wasn’t going to let it slip through my fingers.

We set out on a road trip with nothing to lose and no guarantees of tomorrow.

Our road trip was about young, reckless love.

The kind of love that burns bright.

The kind of love that no road-map could bring me back from.

Review: This is a new novel by R.S. Grey that I’m discovering, and it’s a completely different genre that the author proposes. Indeed, it is not a comedy or a light story, but rather a reconstruction after a very complicated illness.

Abby is a young girl whose adolescence was stolen by her illness by her heart waiting for a donor. But after being imprisoned for so long, this young woman is now eager for freedom, she wants a normal life, she wants to forget and we understand her! For this, and without telling her parents, but with the support of her very sick friend, she decides to go on a road trip. What she didn’t expect, however, was the arrival of a stranger in her life, an enigmatic and charming boy who wants to go with her. They will learn to discover each other, and they will try to decide what they want to do with their lives during this road trip. Beck will show her what it’s like to be eighteen, to do stupid things, to choose for herself, but above all to try to move forward.

It was a really touching, intense story and my heart squeezed more than once. Abby will have to go through a lot of tough times. But she will move forward, she will rebuild herself to live, to be a girl like any other and to deserve above all this new heart she has received.

I really enjoyed discovering Abby and Bleck, they are two different characters but they will find themselves here. Two characters who will support each other and evolve. Yes, the author offers us a very nice story.
