Cold Shadows by J.L. Bryan

Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper, Book 2

Synopsis: Footsteps in the attic. Toys that play by themselves. A dark presence in an upstairs room.

Paranormal investigator Ellie Jordan faces a difficult new case. Her new clients are a family haunted by multiple ghosts and a poltergeist that wrecks their home at night. Their seven-year-old son’s invisible friends may not be imaginary at all, but the restless spirits of dead children.

To clear her clients’ house of the dangerous entities, Ellie must unravel the mysterious deaths of another family who lived in the old mansion more than a hundred and sixty years ago—and she must do it before the ghosts can carry out their malevolent designs on her clients and their children.

Review: After a good time with the first volume, I was curious to embark on this sequel. I feel that I’m going to spend a lot of money with this series because I finally ordered next novel as soon as I finished one. Yes, it’s my ruin, but a great time again!

So we find Ellie on a new case and it must be said that for once she will not really be spared! Indeed, it seems that a family needs her help again. For some time now, there have been some very strange things happening to them: the objects move, smash on the ground, the cupboards attack them and a disturbing presence lives in the attic. That’s why our two heroines will do everything to understand what is happening. This time they do not only have to deal with difficult ghosts, but also to a poltergeist who hides many secrets.

I really liked this second volume once again and I had a great time. Ellie and Stacey’s investigation is fascinating and I was curious to find out what was going on in this house, to find out what this old family was hiding. I was very happy to see Jacob again and I hope that he will become a regular character. I also have some questions to know if the author will propose different surveys for each volume or if there is going to be a common thread. There are some possibilities but I think that I would know it only by reading more!

In any case it’s a great series of ghosts and I can not wait to read more!
