Being Brooke by Emma Hart

Barley Cross, Book 1

Synopsis: My name is Brooke Barker…

And I’m a freaking disaster.

No, seriously. I’m a college drop-out working a dead-end job, my best friend Carly’s dog gets more action than I do, and I have more bad dates in my diary than there are movie remakes.

Not to mention I’m completely and utterly in love with Cain Elliott.

The problem? He’s in a relationship. With a girl who’s so plastic she makes Barbie cry herself to sleep with jealousy.

The second problem? He’s my best friend.

My shut-up-and-put-on-Harry-Potter, yes-this-is-your-shirt, help-I-have-no-power, crap-I’m-out-of-tampons, kinda best friend.

And that’s all he can be, right?

Right.

Review: Aaaaah, Emma Hart and I, it’s a great love story and I am always looking forward to immersing myself in each of her books! Impossible to resist them, I have each time a great time with colorful characters and above all a lot of humor!

Brooke is a disaster. No, it’s true, she is a walking disaster! But lucky for her, she has two best friends who are always there for her. Problem? Yes, because there is one: her best friend is also the boy she has been in love with for years. And if everyone knows it, even his own parents, this guy doesn’t realize it. Worse yet, he’s in a relationship with a girl Brooke hates. Yes, yes, she is objective!

It was once again a very good novel, and I had a very good time with Brooke and Cain, but also Carly and the other characters. I can’t help but fall under the spell of each of them. What about Brooke? I loved her crazy and annoying side. Cain is much more composed and at the same time, he knows what he wants. What about Carly? Oh, I look forward to learning more about her!

If you’ve never read an Emma Hart novel before, you’re missing something and I can only advise you to get started.
