Mafia Princess by Bella J.

Royal Mafia, Book 1

Synopsis: Rules. I’m starting to think I have the natural talent for breaking them.

I hate rules. Always have. Especially since I had them shoved in my face my entire life.

I didn’t ask to be a Valenti. And I sure as hell didn’t agree to follow all their goddamn rules.

Yet it’s been years since I broke one of my family’s most cardinal laws. It was a mistake—I know that now. But that’s the thing about mistakes. You never know you’re about to make one until it’s too late.

Unfortunately, every transgression, every wrong decision has a way to demand atonement. No matter if it’s hours, days, or years after.

I’m still waiting for my past mistakes to exact payment. It’ll come. I know it will.

But now, while I’m sitting in the interrogation room staring at the sinfully gorgeous Detective Lorik Stone, I can’t help but think about all my family’s rules…

…and how I’m about to break another one.

Review: I was really curious about that novel. I’m starting to become a fan of mafia romances and I was curious to immerse myself in this new series.

Karina is a Valenti. She tried to run away from her family, to be a person on her own, but when you are part of a mafia family, it’s not possible to run away. Back home to please her father, she doesn’t expect to run into lorik, the cop who is more than determined to bring her family down, but even more determined to get her into his bed. She makes him lose his mind and will make him want to break a new rule set by his family.

But now it seems that her past, the one that drove her away a few years ago, is catching up with her and she will have no choice but to confront it.

It was a nice read, very raw, but I enjoyed finding out more about this family. I think the story could have been a little more developed. I’m also curious to discover the other novels to know the stories of Karina’s brothers and to see the consequences of the events of this novel on the lives of our protagonists.

A nice first volume.
