Review: I had really liked the first volume and I was curious to start this second book to discover Tobias, Gabriel’s brother.

As each volume follows a different member of the family, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Raven and Gabriel are also present in the story and I really enjoyed it. In fact, some chapters are only from their point of view. Of course, this volume follows the intrigue of the first volume and that was also very nice, because everything is connected.

Tobias is a renowned pediatric cardiac doctor and he decided a long time ago to live like a human to blend in. But everything changed when Gabriel called him for help and while he thought all this was behind him, his brother and Raven showed up in Chicago. On top of that, he will discover that Sabina, the charming nurse he works with, is finally much more than that, that she’s a human-vampire hybrid that could well turn his whole world upside down!

I really liked Sabrina, this young woman with a sharp mind who always thinks of her own whatever the circumstances. Yes, it was a very good second novel and I can’t wait to discover Rowan’s story now and of course, to find all the characters again. Many dangers are introduced in this novel and I wonder how our characters will cope with them! It’s really not going to be easy!
