The Fractured Faery, Book 1
Synopsis: One corpse. Several bizarre looking attackers. Some very strange magical powers. And a severe bout of amnesia. Madrona is not having a great week. It’s going to be okay though. All she has to do is find out who she really is, protect a soap star from being attacked by a stalker and work out why so many people seem so afraid of her. Because surely she’s a good person.
Right?
Review: I was very curious to discover this first volume by Helen Harper. She is an author I always hear good things about! I enjoyed the first Ivy Wilde book, so why not try this one?
Madrona wakes up with no memory on a golf course, next to the corpse of a decapitated man. What to do? And on top of that, two men are trying to kill her! As she tries to figure out who she is, she discovers that she has powers. Maybe she’s a superhero after all?
Determined to find out who she is, she’s about to be disappointed when she learns the truth about herself. But she’s not who she used to be and she’ll do anything to prove to everyone that she can be counted on.
I enjoyed learning about this world and these characters with Madrona. However, I was a little disappointed in the novel. The heroine bored me throughout the story. She often acts like a child and I wanted to shake her a few times.
It was an okay novel, but I expected more.

Its always fun to have a book where the character has a journey of self discovery.
Great Review.

First in series are always a hit or miss. Maybe the next book will be stronger.

It’s always a challenge to get going on the first book in the series.
