The Dating Experiment by Emma Hart

The Experiment, Book 2

Synopsis: 1.Get over my best friend’s brother.
2.Remember that I’m over him.
3.Prove I can date other people.
It should be easy.
It’s not.

Setting up a dating website with the guy I’ve been in love with since I was five wasn’t my smartest idea.
Especially since he’s my best friend’s brother—thankfully, she’s okay with the fact I’m pulling a Sandy and I’m hopelessly devoted to him.
Which is why it’s time to get over him.
So I do something crazy and ask Dominic Austin to find me a date. He does—if I find him one, too.
Since we own Stupid Cupid, it should be easy, right? And it is.
My date is perfect. His date is perfect. Everything is perfect.
Until he kisses me…

Three dates.
One kiss.
And a big-ass mess…

Review: I loved the first volume and I was very curious to get into this sequel and discover Dom and Chloe’s story.

Chloe has been in love with Dom for so long that she realizes there is nothing left to hope for. What she does not know though is that her feelings are shared. So, to try to override him and finally put all that aside, she decides on a whim to ask him to find her a date. He accepts if she does the same. And that’s where the problems begin!

I really had a good time with this new novel. Dom is really unbearable and it must be said that he easily plays her to make her crazy. I loved to see them exchanging, arguing while failing to say what they feel. I was also delighted to see Peyton and Elliott again and see how they had evolved!

It was once again a fresh and humorous novel!

The Dating Experiment d’Emma Hart (VO)

The Experiment, Tome 2

Résumé (traduction personnelle) : 1. Oublier le frère de ma meilleure amie.

The Hook-Up Experiment by Emma Hart

The Experiment, Book 1

Synopsis:

1.Hate-screw my high school nemesis.
2.Remember to hate him.
3.Prove my brother wrong.
It should be easy.
It isn’t.

As the owner of Pick-A-D*ck, New Orleans’ premier hook-up website, my job is simple. Connect two people for a no-strings, no-expectations hook-up. The plus for my clients is that I’m the one who gets to sift through the d*ck pics—except this time, they’re required.

My problem? My brother, co-owner of Pick-A-D*ck’s sister dating site, doesn’t believe it’s possible to hook up with someone three times and not fall in love.
I disagree. I know it’s possible.

And my disagreement is exactly how I end up reconnected with my high school nemesis, Elliott Sloane. The guy who asked me to junior prom and then stood me up. Who egged my car when I rejected him, and convinced my senior homecoming date to ghost me.

It should be easy to hate-screw him. If only he was still that person, instead of a hot-as-hell single dad, working as a builder to make ends’ meet, fighting for custody of his daughter.

Three hook-ups.
One outcome.
Right?

Review: This is a novel that immediately attracted me when I discovered the synopsis. How to resist, right? I really enjoyed discovering a story a little different from those usually found in romance. And the characters? What about characters? They are all charismatic with very different natures and I loved them all!

Peyton manages with her two best friends and her brother a dating website. Her part in it? Hooking-up two persons who just want to have a good time. It’s easy! And it is she who has to sort the penis pictures she receives for each request. For once, it’s a very original job! Except that here, a problem with her brother will make her take a bet. He is convinced that it is not possible to sleep three times with the same person without falling in love? However, she is convinced of the opposite! So determined to prove him wrong, she will embark on the adventure! However, she did not expect her best friends to choose him. Yes, because Peyton has a very strong grudge and when she discovers that the person in question is none other than the boy who stand her up at junior prom, damaged her car and forced her date not to come to senior prom, yes she is very angry! Yet, he is handsome and she does not want to let her brother win.

I really had a great time with this novel as I said. Peyton is a liberated woman, who knows what she wants and especially who keeps a grudge like nobody and who is stubborn to the possible! It’s very funny to follow her and to see that sometimes she can be wrong even if she does not accept it easily. Her meeting with Elliott will change everything, much more than she thought. For his part, I really enjoyed this man. It was nice to see a change on the balance man / woman that is usually found in romance. He is sweet, kind, and above all I loved seeing his involvement in the care of his daughter. It’s very touching to see him with this little girl. The latter is also adorable! We also have Peyton’s brother of course and I must say that I loved seeing him make everyone crazy. He is very impressive all by himself! We see the story of the second and last novel to emerge with him and Peyton’s best and the little that I saw makes me really want to discover the story!

As you can see it was a very nice discovery for me. The author completely carried me away and I quickly connected to each of the protagonists! I advise you to try it!
