Guilty Pleasure (Book 2) by Laurell K Hamilton (VO)

Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter: Guilty Pleasures, Volume 2

Synopsis : Introducing Anita Blake, vampire hunter extraordinaire. Most people don’t even bat an eye at vampires since they’ve been given equal rights by the Supreme Court. But Anita knows better–she’s seen their victims. . . . A serial killer is murdering vampires, however, and now the most powerful vampire in town wants Anita to find the killer.

Review : So what can I tell about this new comic ? Even if I’ve read the books before this one, not starting this the first volume wasn’t the easiest thing I’ve done. Indeed, from the start we fall in the middle of the action without knowing what it was happening before (Yeah don’t make the same mistake as I do, it’s not a good idea !). I don’t have a lot of memory so it was really pleasant to remind little by little each events of the story. I think everything was well transcribed and it was nice to follow the pictures.

It’s true that we pass quickly from an event from an other but I think it’s difficult to replicate each events. I think Bert was very well represented, by his appearance, we understand clearly his nature. After that, I think the most impressive character was Nikolaos. I haven’t imagine her like that but after reading this book, I think it was perfect for her. It was also funny to see the empty and inexpressive looks of Edward, looks whose we hear so much about all along the series.

So it was a nice comic whose I really like the pictures and the characters.

  1. LOL in the end you will have to read it too ! I just have two more comics so it will soon be the end for me. (great thing because it’s very difficult to write something about it). I think the bad thing is that for The Laughing corpse, there are 5 comics… too much.

  2. I saw the words “vampire hunter” and I immediately made a mental note that this would be awesome! Because that whole idea is so cool! 🙂 And I love that this is a comic book — pictures are always so much fun to look at! I’m a personal fan!

    Awesome review, Melliane! 🙂

  3. What happened with me and Anita was that I read the 3rd book first, then I read Guility pleasures comic book, and to this day I haven’t read the first book, weird right?

I really liked these graphic novels, Anita is awesome in them. 😀
