Mercy Thompson, Book 11
Synopsis: My name is Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman, and I am a car mechanic.
And a coyote shapeshifter . . . And the mate of the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack.
Even so, none of that would have gotten me into trouble if, a few months ago, I hadn’t stood upon a bridge and taken responsibility for the safety of the citizens who lived in our territory. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It should have only involved hunting down killer goblins, zombie goats, and an occasional troll. Instead, our home was viewed as neutral ground, a place where humans would feel safe to come and treat with the fae.
The reality is that nothing and no one is safe. As generals and politicians face off with the Gray Lords of the fae, a storm is coming and her name is Death.
But we are pack, and we have given our word. We will die to keep it.
Review: I love the Mercy Thompson series, so I was really looking forward to getting my hands on this new novel. I didn’t remember very well the last events of the previous volume, but it was with great pleasure to find all the characters.
If I had a little trouble at the beginning of the novel getting into the story that I found a little confusing, I finally managed to get into it and I was really curious to find out what was going on.
Mercy is facing the consequences of the previous events and must protect the city. When witches arrive in town with powers beyond comprehension, our heroine has a hard time managing all this. In addition to that, she finds herself having to negotiate a meeting between the faes. So yes, our heroine will have many things to manage and she will have to make decisive choices!
Despite a difficult start I really had a very good time with this novel once again and I am still very curious to see what the author has in store for us in the future.
Yes!! So glad you liked this one as well! Such a great series!!
yes!!!
Yes, it’s always hard to dive back into a series after two years. I am glad that you enjoyed it once you found your footing. I am looking forward to reading this soon.
I always have a good time with her books
Sneaking a peek at your rating. I’ve got this one still to review. 🙂 Glad you loved it.
Curious to see what yout hink of it!
I’ve been thinking about starting a book from her. This sounds good too.
I love them, but I also want them to end
Glad the rocky start didn’t knock you off course
Glad this was good! I’ve only read the first book but liked it 🙂
I thought this one was outstanding. I think when it is 2 years between books or 1.5 years it is harder. The next one is about a year away, and I’m doing the Read-along next year so we can refresh it all.
That’s a good idea
I can understand how it would be a bit difficult to jump into this one if you can’t remember the details of the previous books. I have read them all at least twice so I have the stories pretty set in my mind. I really did love this one and am happy to see that you did enjoy it.
yes it’s a series I really like
Glad you got pulled in. I had a good time with this one.
I really enjoyed this one too. It feels like a bridge book, but it’s like setting up for something big.
yeah
Sounds like an interesting story!
