Luther Cross, Book 1

Synopsis: Half-human. Half-demon. All attitude.
Luther Cross here. Dangerously handsome, effortlessly stylish half-demon, at your service. As I have inherited certain…abilities with my odd genetics, I’ve put them to use as Chicago’s foremost paranormal investigator.

My current case? Well, I have to admit, it feels a little personal. I’m helping a mysterious girl who’s turned up on my doorstep, pregnant through mystic means. I can’t help but think of my own mother…and if I don’t help her, she’ll face the same fate.

Turns out, someone is trying to create an army of half-demons. While it might be a pleasant change to hang out with my own kind, I know most half-demons don’t have my sense of morality. If I don’t stop this evil plan, the armistice between Heaven and Hell will be broken and all of the Earth will pay… It will be the beginning of the end.

Review : This is a series that I was curious to discover and I must say that I always like a lot when we follow a man in urban fantasy, because it is not necessarily common, even if there are some, and I always find it very nice!

Luther Cross is half demon and half human, one of the last that exists since their existence was banned. But now, our hero knows how to make himself indispensable with his special gifts, but his situation is still delicate. Yet when he faces a problem that resonates with his past, he knows that he can not ignore it. A girl comes to him with a baby, a baby who seems to be mystical, but also completely forbidden. A baby who according to the law must be exterminated … But Luther is determined to help this young woman, to prevent her from succumbing, and especially to find the one who did it to her.

It was a pretty good first volume and I enjoyed seeing the chapters from this young woman’s point of view. There is an interesting mix of religion, angels, demons and war that I enjoyed and I must say that I am curious to read more of this trilogy.

Well, yes… this does sound interesting. I enjoy when the supernatural side isn’t as easy and that he’s a paranormal investigator. Sounds like a good start.

It is nice to see a UF with a male lead. It does seem like most have female leads. This does sound really good.

Wow, this sounds really good! You always find the most interesting urban fantasy, I don’t think I’ve read too much featuring half-demons.
