Review: The first time I heard about the novel I confess that I was pretty dubious and I waited to see the reviews to find out how it was. I must say that I was very surprised to see all the praise and the release paperback copy (French) of this first volume gave me the opportunity to get into the story. I can tell you now that I really loved this first book and I can not wait to read more.

We learn from the beginning that Hannah was raped a few years ago and that is something that she never recovered from. Yet she tries to move on as best as she can, to show that she can enjoy life again. Justin, the boy of the class that attracts her could well be the extra step to allow her to be happy. But Hannah is not a girl to dredge and even if she hopes that Justin will notice her, it does not seem so simple. Garrett is the star of the Hockey team, he is popular, doesn’t have a girlfriend but keeps having girls. However, he is failing his classes and if he does not do something quickly, he can forget Hockey. When he realizes that Hannah can help him, he goes after her so she can give him private lessons. But Hannah is stubborn and she really does not seem eager to help him in any way. But Garrett is even more stubborn and he will not stop until she agrees.

It was very funny to see their exchanges while a link finally appears between them little by little. The two characters are broken in their own way and even if they do not necessarily realize it, they can help each other, move forward and finally confide and heal. It is not simple, far from it but it is also really touching.

I had a great time with this story. It completely took me away and I loved following Hannah and Garrett. They are two extraordinary characters and we hope throughout the chapters that they will have their happy end. We also follow the evolution of Garrett in his sport but especially the progress of Hannah for her song preparation and for the performance she will soon realize.

As I said I really had a great time, I found the ideas and style of the author very well mastered and I am very eager to read more! It was a beautiful discovery!

Résumé : Hannah est une très bonne élève et elle a un don incroyable pour le chant.

Mais quand il s’agit d’hommes et de séduction, elle perd tous ses moyens. Garrett est la star de l’équipe de hockey de l’université, mais ses résultats scolaires ne sont pas à la hauteur et il risque de perdre sa place dans l’équipe. Ils vont passer un drôle d’accord.

Elle lui donne des cours et il l’aide à séduire le quaterback de l’équipe de football.

Avis : La première fois que j’ai entendu parler du roman j’avoue que j’étais assez dubitative et j’ai attendu de voir les avis pour savoir ce qu’il en était. Je dois dire que j’ai été très surprise en voyant tous les éloges et la sortie poche de ce premier tome m’a donné l’occasion de me lancer dans l’histoire. Je peux vous dire maintenant que j’ai vraiment adoré ce premier tome et que j’ai très hâte de lire la suite.

Nous apprenons dès le début qu’Hannah a été violée il y a quelques années et c’est quelque chose dont elle ne s’est jamais remis. Pourtant, elle essaie d’avancer autant qu’elle le peut, pour montrer qu’elle peut passer outre. Et Justin, le garçon de sa classe qui l’attire, pourrait bien être l’étape supplémentaire pour lui permettre d’être heureuse. Mais voilà, Hannah n’est pas fille à draguer et même si elle espère que Justin la remarquera, ça ne semble pas aussi simple. Garrett est la star de l’équipe de Hockey, il est populaire, n’a jamais de copine mais enchaîne les filles. Pourtant, il est à la traîne au niveau de ses notes et s’il ne les remonte pas rapidement, il peut faire une croix sur le Hockey. Quand il se rend compte qu’Hannah peut l’aider, il se lance à sa poursuite pour qu’elle lui donne des cours particuliers. Mais voilà Hannah est têtue et elle ne semble vraiment pas désireuse de l’aider de quelque manière que ce soit. Mais Garrett est encore plus têtu et il n’arrêtera pas avant qu’elle accepte.

C’était très drôle de voir leurs échanges et finalement quelque chose se crée entre eux petit à petit. Les deux personnages sont brisés à leur manière et même s’ils ne s’en rendent pas forcément compte, ils peuvent s’aider tous les deux, avancer et finalement enfin se confier et guérir. Ce n’est pas simple, loin de là mais c’est aussi vraiment très touchant.

J’ai passé un excellent moment avec cette histoire. Elle m’a complètement emportée et j’ai adoré suivre Hannah et Garrett. Ce sont deux personnages extraordinaires et on espère tout au long des chapitres qu’ils aient leur happy end. On suit aussi l’évolution de Garrett dans son sport mais surtout l’avancée d’Hannah pour sa préparation de chant et pour la performance qu’elle va bientôt réaliser.

Comme je le disais j’ai vraiment passé un très bon moment, j’ai trouvé les idées et le style de l’auteur très bien maîtrisés et je suis très impatiente d’en lire plus ! C’était une très belle découverte !

Review: I’ve heard a lot about Abbi Glines but it’s true that I had never read one of her books. The opportunity was thus presented with Under the Lights, the second volume of The Field Party series. I confess that I was a little afraid of being lost in the absence of the first volume but it did not finally happen. Looking at the synopsis, I could see that this first volume presented the story of West and Maggie and I finally found that the author introduced them fairly well here by reminding us a bit of what they went through, giving the impression of knowing everything.

We follow Willa’s return to the little town of Lawson that she had abandoned years earlier when her mother retrieved her from her grandmother. But some terrible incidents have occurred since then, and after leaving a rehabilitation center for young girls, her mother threw her out. Yet her best memories are in Lawson, with her Nonna (who agrees to welcome her again) and her two former best friends Brady and Gunner.

The fact that we mainly follow Willa in this novel allows without problems to start the series by this second volume. She rediscovers the city of her childhood, as well as her former comrades and it also allows us to familiarize ourselves with her in this new environment. Of course, she has changed, and the boys all seem very interested in getting to know her, including Brady and Gunner. It was quite amusing to see their little “competition” to win the Willa’s charms. Brady is convinced that she is for him and Gunner would love to be with her, even though he knows that he can not offer anything concrete. It must be said that the poor boy must endure many things himself at home too. In this way, we learn to discover the secrets of the characters along the chapters as the characters come together and try to heal together, even if nothing is obvious.

I found that the book used strong themes that were fairly well used. We are expecting rather terrible stories and it is true that the author has mastered everything well. I had a good time, I shivered with the characters while learning the truth and I was looking forward to see how the whole story was going to end. It was a very pretty book, poignant and full of ideas. I am really pleased with my first Abbi Glines and I am very curious to discover her other novels now!

Sous la lumière d’Abbi Glines

Résumé : Willa ne peut effacer les mauvais choix qu’elle a faits par le passé. Des erreurs qui lui ont fait perdre ses deux meilleurs amis et sans doute son premier amour.

Brady et Gunner font tous deux partie de l’équipe de football de la petite ville de Lawson, en Alabama. Au fil du temps, Gunner se montre plus compréhensif avec Willa, tandis que Brady ne veut plus entendre parler d’elle.
Alors que des secrets inavoués remontent à la surface, les coeurs se brisent et se guérissent. Même si elle risque de perdre ses amis pour toujours, Willa acceptera-t-elle de mettre la vérité sous la lumière ?

Avis : J’ai énormément entendu parler d’Abbi Glines mais c’est vrai que je n’avais jamais lu un seul de ses livres. L’occasion s’est ainsi présentée avec Sous la Lumière, le deuxième tome de la série The Field Party. J’avoue que j’avais un peu peur d’être perdue en l’absence du premier tome mais ça n’a finalement pas été le cas. En regardant le résumé, j’ai pu voir que ce tome présentait l’histoire de West et de Maggie et j’ai trouvé finalement que l’auteure nous les introduisait assez bien ici en rappelant un peu ce par quoi ils sont passés, donnant ainsi l’impression de ne rien avoir manqué.

Nous suivons le retour de Willa dans la petite ville de Lawson qu’elle a abandonnée des années plus tôt quand sa mère l’a récupérée auprès de sa grand-mère. Mais voilà, de terribles incidents se sont produits depuis, elle sort à peine d’un centre de redressement de jeunes filles et sa mère l’a fichues à la porte. Pourtant ses meilleurs souvenirs sont à Lawson, avec sa Nonna (qui accepte de l’accueillir à nouveau) et ses deux anciens meilleurs amis Brady et Gunner.

Le fait de suivre principalement Willa dans ce roman permet sans problèmes de commencer la série par ce deuxième tome. Elle redécouvre la ville de son enfance, ainsi que ses anciens camarades et ça nous permet aussi de nous familiariser avec elle dans ce nouvel environnement. Bien sûr, elle a changé, et les garçons semblent tous très intéressés à l’idée d’apprendre à la connaitre, notamment Brady et Gunner. C’était assez amusant de voir leur petite « compétition » pour gagner les charmes de Willa. Brady est persuadé qu’il est fait pour elle et Gunner aimerait beaucoup être avec elle, même s’il sait qu’il ne peut rien lui proposer de concret. Il faut dire que le pauvre garçon doit endurer un grand nombre de choses chez lui aussi. Nous apprendrons ainsi à découvrir au cours des chapitres les secrets des personnages qui se rapprocheront et essaieront de guérir ensemble, même si rien n’est évident.

J’ai trouvé que le livre reprenait des thèmes forts qui étaient assez bien utilisés. On s’attend à des histoires assez terribles et c’est vrai que l’auteure a tout bien maitrisé. J’ai passé un bon moment, j’ai frissonné avec les personnages en apprenant la vérité et j’attendais avec impatience de voir comment l’ensemble allait se terminer. C’était un très joli livre, poignant et plein d’idées. Je suis vraiment contente de mon premier Abbi Glines et je suis très curieuse de découvrir ses autres romans à présent !

Review: I always have a great time with the novels by Cecy Robson and with the release of Crave Me, I realized that I hadn’t read Let Me. How is this possible? I started it as soon as possible!

We follow one of the O’Brien’s brothers here and it’s Finn’s turn to come on stage, accompanied by Sol, someone close to Theo. This is how we find all the characters we have discovered and it is a pleasure to know what they became. But back to our two main characters, two people broken by life … Finn had a trauma in his youth, something he still wears today and is impossible to forget. To get rid of his rage, fighting has become a loophole. Yet, lately, this is not enough anymore and after an incident, he is now obliged to follow a therapy. Thus he crosses the path of Sol. This young woman tries to get her master’s degree in psychology to help her family. Indeed, her mother is sick and although father and daughter try to take care of her at home, the situation is getting worse and worse … So a story between her and Finn seems impossible, especially when he is known for going from one girl to another very quickly, and yet … An indescribable link is created between the two characters and even though our hero is determined to make Sol succumb, the latter is much more suspicious. It is important to say that their problems take an important place in their lives and they will have to move forward, make choices and perhaps even help each other to heal.

I really had a great time with this novel. It is very difficult to see everything our two characters have endured. We are nevertheless taken by the story, following the two characters and waiting to see their next actions. It was a really touching story and I was hoping that the two characters would find their happy ending. It will not be easy and they will have to work on themselves but it was a really touching sequel. Once again, Cecy Robson presents us with a very good book and I will now be able to get into Crave Me!

Mais leur attirance est intense, et il est clairement prêt à voir jusqu’où la passion va les mener.

Seuls, Finn et Sol se sont battus pour trouver le bonheur dans leur vie. Ensemble, on ne peut pas les arrêter car ils font face à leurs plus grands défis, non pas dans le ring, mais dans leur cœur.

Avis : On passe toujours un très bon moment avec les romans de Cecy Robson et avec la sortie de Crave Me, je me suis rendue compte que j’avais laissé passer la sortie de Let Me. Comment est-ce possible ? Je me suis alors lancée dès que possible dans cette nouvelle lecture !

Nous suivons un autre des frère O’Brien ici et c’est au tour de Finn d’entrer en scène, accompagné de Sol, une proche de Theo. C’est ainsi que l’on retrouve tous les personnages que l’on a découverts et c’est un plaisir de savoir ce qu’ils deviennent. Mais revenons-en à nos deux personnages principaux, deux personnes brisées par la vie… Finn a eu un traumatisme dans sa jeunesse, quelque chose qu’il porte toujours aujourd’hui et qui est impossible à oublier. Pour faire évacuer sa rage, les combats sont devenus une échappatoire. Pourtant, ces derniers temps, cela ne suffit plus et après un incident, il est maintenant obligé de suivre une thérapie. C’est ainsi qu’il recroise la rue de Sol. Cette jeune femme essaie d’obtenir sa maitrise en psychologie pour aider sa famille. En effet, sa mère est malade et bien que père et fille essaient de s’occuper d’elle à la maison, la situation se dégrade de plus en plus… Alors une histoire entre elle et Finn semble impossible, notamment quand il est connu pour passer d’une fille à l’autre très rapidement, et pourtant… Un lien indescriptible se crée entre les deux et quand bien même notre héros est déterminé à faire succomber Sol, cette dernière est beaucoup plus méfiante. Il faut dire que leurs problèmes prennent une place importante dans leur vie et ils vont devoir avancer, faire des choix et peut-être même s’aider à guérir.

J’ai vraiment passé un très bon moment avec ce roman. C’est très difficile de voir tout ce que nos deux personnages ont enduré. On se prend pourtant au jeu en suivant de près les deux personnages et en attendant de voir leurs prochaines actions. C’était une histoire vraiment touchante et j’espérais bien que les deux personnages trouvent leur happy ending. Ce ne sera vraiment pas simple et ils vont devoir travailler sur eux-mêmes. Encore une fois, Cecy Robson nous présente un très bon livre et je vais maintenant pouvoir me lancer dans Crave Me !

Review: Here is finally the last volume of the Never Never series and I confess that with so many questions, I was impatient to discover all the answers. It must be said that everything is quite confusing and the two books bring only more questions which is finally a bit frustrating too! But there! Here we are!

I quickly forgot my doubts and I embarked with pleasure in this last story by finding our two characters. But this time Silas remembers the last 48H in the reverse of Charlie… what is the reason? We continue to observe them in their quest, finally meeting with the father of the girl. I confess that I was impatiently waiting for this discussion between Charlie and her father. We finally discover the truth regarding the characters, this loss of memory even if it is a little fuzzy, or even the stories of two families that can even explain the condition of Charlie’s mother.

Yes, here we have everything I expected and I was enchanted by the poetry of the story. It was a very good discovery! I really advise you to read the 3 seasons in a row so as not to stay in suspense.
