Review: I am not a big paranormal romance reader, but when I discovered this title, I must say that I was curious. It must be said that in addition, I had stumbled upon some rather complimentary reviews that only reinforced my desire to discover this first volume.

Gabriel is under a terrible curse from a voodoo priestess and if he doesn’t accept her blackmail quickly, he could well disappear forever. Determined to counter all this, he seeks by all means to destroy the curse that weighs on him. His last hope is on Raven, even if he doesn’t know what she can do for him. The young woman is about to die from brain cancer and Gabriel’s arrival and his magic allows her to live, but with a promise to work for him. Yet it is only exchanging one cage for another and it is something she cannot accept. As she tries to understand who she is, what she can do and how she feels about Gabriel, our heroine will also face many dangers.

It was a very nice novel. The mix of dragons and voodoo was really well done and I loved learning more about both worlds of our heroes. A main plot is launched, and I’m curious to see how things will turn out. Like all paranormal romances, the romance is quite fast, but it didn’t bother me too much and of course, we have a couple for each volume, corresponding to Gabriel’s brothers and sisters. So yes, after discovering Tobias here, I can’t wait to read his story!

Après cinq ans de traitement infructueux pour son cancer du cerveau, la mort est une fin heureuse pour Raven Tanglewood. Sa maladie est devenue une prison que son esprit aventureux ne peut supporter. Le salut vient sous la forme de Gabriel, qui utilise de la magie de dragons pour la sauver.

Un prix déchirant….

Pour Raven, le lien qui résulte du don de Gabriel est une autre sorte de captivité. Gabriel peut-il gagner l’amour et la confiance de Raven à temps pour éveiller la magie qui sauve des vies en elle ? Ou sa personnalité ardente et ses manières possessives la chasseront-elles loin de lui et scelleront-elles son destin ?

Avis : Je ne suis pas une lectrice de romance paranormale, mais en découvrant ce titre, je dois bien dire que j’étais curieuse. Il faut dire qu’en plus, j’étais tombée sur quelques avis assez élogieux qui n’ont fait que renforcer mon envie de découvrir ce premier tome.

Gabriel subit une malédiction terrible d’une adepte de vaudou et s’il n’accepte pas son chantage rapidement, il pourrait bien disparaitre pour toujours. Bien décidé à contrer tout cela, il cherche par tous les moyens à détruire la malédiction qui pèse sur lui. Son dernier espoir repose sur Raven, même s’il ne sait pas ce qu’elle pourra faire pour lui. La jeune femme est sur le point de mourir à cause d’un cancer du cerveau et l’arrivée de Gabriel et de sa magie lui permet de vivre, mais en promettant de travailler pour lui. Pourtant, ce n’est qu’échanger une cage pour une autre et c’est quelque chose qu’elle ne peut accepter. Alors qu’elle essaie de comprendre ce qu’elle est, ce qu’elle peut faire et ses sentiments pour Gabriel, notre héroïne va aussi faire face à de nombreux dangers.

C’était un roman très sympa. Le mélange des dragons et du vaudou était vraiment très bien fait et j’ai adoré en apprendre plus sur les deux mondes de nos héros. Une intrigue principale est lancée, et je suis curieuse de voir comment les choses vont tourner. Comme toutes romances paranormales, la romance est assez rapide, mais cela ne m’a pas trop gênée et bien sûr, nous avons un couple pour chaque tome, ceci correspondant aux frères et sœurs de Gabriel. Alors oui, après avoir découvert Tobias ici, je suis impatiente de connaitre son histoire !

Review: I was curious to discover this novel by Thea Harrison. If I’m not mistaken, and even if I have several of the author’s books, this is the very first one I’ve read and I was curious to discover the story! And besides, how to resist witches? I like them very much, so I started this book with great pleasure.

Molly didn’t have an easy life with her husband. But when she learns that he has cheated on her once again, she can no longer take it anymore and decides to divorce him. By taking everything she can from home, she’ll come across a secret that could get her killed! In addition to all this, our heroine will also discover that she is a witch and Josiah, this charming stranger, is determined to teach her how to manage her powers, while seeking a man towards whom she wants revenge. As they gradually get closer to the truth, he will fall under Molly’s spell, even wondering what he would be willing to give up to be with her.

It was a nice novel and I admit that I was curious about how Molly would manage in this world that she only just discovered. Romance is predominant as expected with paranormal romances, but I must admit that I was curious to see how things would turn out with Josiah and his revenge plans.

En travaillant ensemble, une étincelle s’allume entre eux, une qui menace de devenir un enfer. Mais Molly a fini de se compromettre pour n’importe quel homme, et la mission de Josiah est sa priorité absolue. L’ennemi est rusé, cruel et s’approche de plus en plus.

Au fur et à mesure que le danger s’intensifie, la tension entre eux s’intensifie. Une relation durable est-elle possible ? Est-ce que l’un d’eux vivra assez longtemps pour essayer ?

Avis : J’étais curieuse de découvrir ce roman de Thea Harrison. Si je ne me trompe pas, et même si j’ai plusieurs livres de l’auteure, c’est le tout premier que je lis et j’étais curieuse de découvrir l’histoire ! Et puis d’ailleurs, comment résister à des sorciers/sorcières ? J’aime beaucoup ça, alors je me suis lancée avec grand plaisir.

Molly n’a pas eu une vie facile avec son mari. Mais alors qu’elle apprend qu’il l’a trompée une fois de plus, elle n’en peut plus et décide de divorcer. En prenant tout ce qu’elle peut chez elle, elle va tomber sur un secret qui pourrait bien la faire tuer ! En plus de tout cela, notre héroïne va aussi découvrir qu’elle est une sorcière et Josiah, cet inconnu charmant, est déterminé à lui enseigner comment gérer ses pouvoirs, tout en cherchant un homme envers qui elle veut se venger. Alors qu’ils se rapprochent petit à petit de la vérité, il va tomber sous le charme de Molly, jusqu’à même se demander ce qu’il serait prêt à abandonner pour être avec elle.

C’était un roman sympa et j’avoue que j’étais curieuse de comment Molly allait s’en sortir dans ce monde qu’elle ne découvre qu’à peine. La romance est prédominante comme on s’y attend avec les romances paranormales, mais j’avoue que j’étais curieuse de voir comment les choses allaient se dérouler avec Josiah et ses plans de vengeances.

Review: I was curious to discover this seventh volume and I must say that I am not disappointed, far from it!

This time it’s Trick’s turn to be featured and that’s how we follow a brand new heroine: Frankie. When she receives an email from her cousin who hopes to be able to reconnect with her so she can meet her aunt who is on her death bed, the young woman is a little lost. Even worse, she realizes that her family has been lying to her all her life. That the story she knew of her parents is not the truth. Finally, it seems that her father killed her mother to commit suicide later and that she was the only witness.

I really enjoyed the reunion with the pack, seeing that Frankie was slowly opening up to this family that she did not know. I was also very curious to find out what exactly happened with her parents and I admit that I found that the turn was well found. The relationship with her human family who does not accept her wolf side was also very interesting and I really had a good time with the story. And what about Trick? He is very patient with her even if it is not necessarily simple at first for him and I found it nice to see them evolve together.

A new novel with a good story and I had a great time once again.

Trick Hardy, le bras droit de la meute du phénix, peut ressentir l’attraction mutuelle quand il voit à nouveau Frankie. Il sait immédiatement qu’elle est sa vraie compagne. Mais il sait aussi que, compte tenu de son état de fragilité, il doit faire preuve de prudence, aussi féroce que soit son désir.

Aussi émue que soit Frankie par l’air obscurément dominant de Trick et son désir frémissant, sa priorité en ce moment est son passé, pas son avenir, aussi tentant soit-il. Mais au fur et à mesure que d’autres secrets émergent et que la vie de Frankie est menacée, Trick doit tout faire pour la garder à proximité et en sécurité. Après tout, c’est leur destin.

Avis : J’étais curieuse de découvrir ce septième tome et je dois dire que je ne suis pas déçue, loin de là !

C’est cette fois-ci au tour de Trick d’être sur le devant de la scène et c’est ainsi que nous suivons une toute nouvelle héroïne : Frankie. Quand elle reçoit un email de sa cousine qui espère pouvoir reprendre contact avec elle et surtout lui faire rencontrer sa tante qui est sur son lit de mort, la jeune femme est un peu perdue. Pire que ça elle se rend compte que sa famille lui a menti pendant toute sa vie. Que l’histoire de ses parents n’est pas telle qu’elle la connaissait. Finalement il semblerait que son père ait tué sa mère pour se suicider par la suite et qu’elle ait été le seul témoin.

J’ai beaucoup aimé les retrouvailles avec la meute, voir que Frankie s’ouvrait doucement à cette famille qu’elle ne connaissait pas. J’étais aussi très curieuse de découvrir ce qu’il s’était passé exactement avec ses parents et j’avoue que j’ai trouvé que la tournure était bien trouvée. La relation avec sa famille humaine qui n’accepte pas son côté loup était aussi très intéressante et j’ai vraiment passé un bon moment avec l’histoire. Et que dire de Trick ? Il est très patient avec elle-même si ce n’est pas forcément simple au départ et j’ai trouvé ça sympa de les voir évoluer ensemble.

Un nouveau roman avec bonne enquête prenante et un très bon moment une fois encore.

Review: Enjoying The Phoenix Pack series, I was also very curious to discover this new spin off saga. How not to be? Especially when we know that we find the characters of the initial series.

Ally did not have an easy life, her pack was murdered and she is the only survivor with her friend Cain. Since then, she goes from pack to pack hoping to find her home. She thought she had found it, as well as a companion but when he left her for his soul mate, she quickly realized that she had gone astray. Her new partner is doing all she can to isolate Ally and to put people at odds by developing lies that go farther and farther. But now, the last one goes too far and Ally will have the chance to get out of this hell thanks to Cain. In fact, he asked the beta of another pack to go get her and to babysit her. But here it is, Ally is also a prophetess and it would seem that the whole pack hates her nature, although she feels a certain attraction towards Derren. Trying to be accepted, the young woman will also help them deal with attacks that are increasingly present.

I really enjoyed this novel. Ally is really a character we can connect to quickly. She is touching, full of determination and does not give up. Yet we see that the situation is really not easy for her and that she is doing her best. It is also difficult to see that no one believes her and prefers to pretend that jealousy makes her act that way. Derren is rather dominant and it’s true that he’s determined to make Ally succumb whatever she wants. For once, he makes every effort to realize that she needs him. It was very touching to see their relationship evolve and to finally see them realize that they are made for each other.

I was also eager to discover Cain after having heard so much about him and I confess that I am not disappointed. I would love to learn more about him now!
