Holiday in the Hamptons by Sarah Morgan

From Manhattan with Love, Book 5

Synopsis: The perfect summer escape…?

Professional dog-walker Felicity Knight loves everything about New York…until her ex-husband starts working at her local vet clinic. She hasn’t seen Seth Carlyle in ten years, but one glimpse of him – too gorgeous, and still too good for her – and Fliss’s heart hurts like their whirlwind marriage ended yesterday. So when her grandmother in The Hamptons needs help for the summer, it seems the perfect way to escape her past…

Their relationship might only have lasted a few scorching months, but vet Seth knows Fliss – if she’s run away to The Hamptons, it’s because she still feels their connection and it terrifies her. He let her go once before, when he didn’t know any better, but not this summer! With the help of his adorable dog Lulu, and a sprinkling of beachside magic, Seth is determined to make Fliss see that he’s never stopped loving her…

Review: When you want to read a good romance, Sarah Morgan is usually a very good choice! That’s why I started with pleasure Holiday in the Hamptons, putting forward characters from the previous novel and I must say that I had a good time.

Fliss is a bit disillusioned when it comes to love. Her first marriage, very young, with a man she thought she loved only lasted a few months, so when she learns that he is in town, ten years later; she absolutely wants to run away from him, unable to face him. But then, as she leaves in the Hamptons to take care of her grandmother, she is convinced that she has succeeded, until she falls on him … and pretends to be Harriet, her twin sister.

As I said, I had a good time with the novel. Fliss is a character broken by her childhood and she will have to face it now, something that will not be easy for her. However, it is also what will show her that people are proud of her, that she is not obliged to internalize everything and that many people are there for her too.

It was a touching romance and Seth is adorable! It’s very easy to fall under his spell and I was very curious to see how they were going to solve things together!

From Manhattan with Love, Tome 5

Sleigh Bells in the Snow by Sarah Morgan

O’Neil Brothers, Book 1

Synopsis: Once upon a time Kayla loved Christmas

Now she’s more dedicated to her job than decking the halls, and can’t wait for the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ to be over.

Until she arrives at the enchanting Snow Crystal ski resort, determined to win gorgeous owner Jackson as a marketing client.

But wooing Jackson professionally quickly turns personal as they spend flirty festive nights in this glittering winter wonderland.

With snowflakes swirling and sleigh bells ringing…could Jackson be the one to make Kayla fall back under the Christmas spell?

Review: I had never read a Sarah Morgan’s novel, but it’s true that I’ve seen many beautiful reviews on her books. So I was curious to immerse myself in this story. And when it is Céline who advises you to try a novel, it is not possible not to trust her!

She told me that it was a cute romance and it is true that it is indeed a very nice and lovely romance to have a good time.

Kayla Green hates Christmas, it’s a time that reminds her of many bad memories of her past. She avoids it, exiles and waits for the period to pass. She is the kind of person who throws herself headlong into her work, to avoid all kinds of relationships and to live alone. But this year, things will change, indeed, for a contract, this girl from the city will have to settle in the mountains for a week. A week she will spend with her sexy client, a week she will spend with a family who loves Christmas.

Facing this family is not easy for Kayla who realizes all she has lost. It will be far from the contract that she is so used to. She will have to understand the attraction of the place, the people, to make it accessible to all. But on top of that, she’s going to finally have to face the life she’s been missing for some time, but also her feelings for Jackson, which she does not know what to do of.

I really had a great time with this romance. It is sweet, cute and perfect to have a good time. Kayla and Jackson are adorable and I confess that I am now curious to read the other novels to discover the stories of Sean and Tyler with Elise and Brenna! Many good things in perspective!

New York, Actually by Sarah Morgan

From Manhattan with Love, Book 4

Synopsis: Meet Molly

New York’s most famous agony aunt, she considers herself an expert at relationships…as long as they’re other people’s. The only love of her life is her Dalmatian, Valentine.

Meet Daniel

A cynical divorce lawyer, he’s hardwired to think relationships are a bad idea. If you don’t get involved, no-one can get hurt. But then he finds himself borrowing a dog to meet the gorgeous woman he sees running in Central Park every morning…

Molly and Daniel think they know everything there is to know about relationships…until they meet each other that is…

Review: This is a new Sarah Morgan novel and although I have not read the previous volumes, I was curious to discover the story.

We find Molly who after a complicated event (which we will learn the details later in the story) moved to New York where she became famous, but anonymous with her blog that attracts thousands of people. This blog, she uses it to give advice in love relationship to all people who ask for help. Nobody or very few know who she is and she prefers to keep things that way. She lives quietly with her dog and she is fine like that. But all this changes when Daniel borrows a dog from his sisters to try to charm the young woman. He is full of confidence and she is full of insecurities.

I had a good time with the novel, it was very nice to learn more about Daniel and Molly. Both have hidden childhood injuries that now play on their lives and the person they are. We see them both open to each other and evolve throughout the story even if it’s far from simple. And then, I loved Brutus and Valentin the dogs of both protagonists! They are really funny! There are also some more touching moments where we understand perfectly the pain of the characters.

In short you understand that it is a nice and cute romance that the author proposes! I have not read the other novels, but I am sure they are in the same lineage!

Rencontre dans l’Upper East Side de Sarah Morgan

From Manhattan with Love, Tome 4

The Italian’s New Year Marriage Wish by Sarah Morgan

Brides of Penhally Bay, Book 2

Synopsis: Dr. Avanti claims his bride

As the snow falls gently on the Cornish streets, Amy Avanti summons up her courage and opens the door to Penhally Bay Surgery, knowing it will take her back to another life where she was adoringly in love with her husband–and now she’s back to finally set him free.

But sexy Italian Dr. Marco Avanti simply wants her back by his side, saving lives by day, making love by night. Marco’s never stopped loving Amy, and he’s going to find out what is causing the shadows under his darling wife’s eyes. With the New Year approaching they are going to make a new beginning–and make their marriage magical again.

Review: I discovered Sarah Morgan recently and I admit that I had a great time with her novel. I was therefore very curious to read more about this author. The Italian’s New Year Marriage Wish came out a few years ago in French and if I’ve never heard of it, I was happy to see the re-release of this story.

Amy fled the city of Penhally Bay a few years ago and she hoped never to return. That would have been the case if her husband had been kind enough to answer her letters when she asked him for a divorce. Marco does not know why his wife left him overnight and when he finds her in town, he is determined to understand what happened and even to win Amy back if it is still possible! Yes, because he is convinced that she does not tell him the whole truth.

I enjoyed the story even though I quickly suspected Amy’s secret so it was not really a big revelation. I had a good time with all the characters from elsewhere and it was a nice read if you want a light romance. What embarrassed me a little is the ease of the heroine to finally tell everyone her secret while it was impossible for her to talk about it at first. I admit that I had a little trouble reconciling the two aspects. But there are other points that are a bit too easy for me. Yet I still had a very pleasant time and the author’s fluid writing allows us to immerse ourselves and finish the story quickly.

As I said it was a nice romance and I admit that I am all the more curious to read more about the author!

Le défi du Dr Avanti de Sarah Morgan

Brides of Penhally Bay, Tome 2
