Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.
Well, I think I will choose Anita Blake from the Laurell K Hamilton series. I’ve read all the books (yes all the of them, really!) and well I was really disappointed by her becoming in the last books. But I really liked this character at first, she was amazing, so I keep reading the books, wishing it will return like before. We’ll see, I don’t give up!

Hopping through. Anita Blake is a very popular answer. I’d still like to try the series though.

I’ll say like you Melliane: Anita Blake was a great disappointment for me. But you’re stronger than I because I gave up Anita after only the fouth book.
She was for me a wonderful character but what Laurell K. Hamilton did to her didn’t appeal me.
(Décidément Melliane…nous sommes souvent d’accord! lol)
Melliane
ooh oui tu as arrêté bien avant.

Jessica@a GREAT read
Wow! Seeing a lot of Anita today! Never read those books because I kind of heard some of those things at the time. Even though the author’s local, I don’t think I’ll ever be reading the Anita books.

I’ve love the first few Hamilton books. I haven’t read too far into the series, but I can see what a great character she is and from what I’ve heard how she could disappoint. Still need to read further tho. 🙂
Happy Weekend!
Natasha
I chose her as well! It’s sad that I lost the love I had for her character, but it was bound to happen with what she’s now acting like.

I haven’t read the Anita blake series so I’m not familiar with her. Still, it’s always sad when we break up — even with fictional characters!

I suspect Anita Blake cropped up quite a lot this week. I haven’t read any of the books but that’s more because I know that Anita ends up shagging anything close at hand and I’m very reluctant to let myself in for the disappointment I know will be to come!
