Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?
What an interesting and difficult question. My problem is that I forget everything easily… And if it was for school they are all in french. Here is one I enjoyed: Au bonheur des Dames by Emile Zola. A beautiful book even if too many descriptions.

We were never required to read anything, we always got to choose, but well in uni..Jane Eyre for a class

Zola looks like a beautiful book! I’m not familiar with that one either, but it looks hella more interesting than most of the books I had to read, haha! Have a great Friday! <3

I feel old by not remembering things from school because it was so long ago! I took French in school so I had to read a few things in French. Um, but I don’t remember anything except Je m’appelle Alisa & Je parle un peu de Francais, lol.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Followed you back :0)
Melliane

Required reading. Usually ment I would hate it no matter what. However, I’d have to say mine was Dante’s Inferno.
I haven’t heard of yours.
Happy Friday!!

I’ve never read anything by Zola. I had to think for a while about what books I read for school, too, because it’s been so long.

I know of Zola, of course, but haven’t actually read anything by him. We only had a few books we were required to read and got to choose the rest. I’ve been trying to recollect which books we were required to read, but cannot remember. I do remember choosing one of Molière’s plays for French though. Enjoyed it too.

The book the I loved the most in school is actually a french book 🙂 Papillon by Henri Charrière. I was supposed to read it and write an essay. I had a month or something like that and I read it in a day. I remember that day I went to bed very late because I couldn’t put it down. A day later I gave the essay to my teacher and she couldn’t believe I had read it that fast.

I haven’t heard of it either, but I like the cover of it.

Of course I am not familiar with it because I am not familiar with French literature. But do not worry – I forget things easily as well!

Going to school for an English degree, I am surprised I didn’t spend any time in French literature. I know my university has professors that specialize in French lit, but . . . Either way, I love the cover of the book.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Haven’t heard of this one, probably because I haven’t read much French literature 🙂
