Synopsis: You never know who’s watching…

Corinne’s life might look perfect on the outside, but after three failed IVF attempts it’s her last chance to have a baby. And when she finds a tiny part of a doll house outside her flat, it feels as if it’s a sign.

But as more pieces begin to turn up, Corinne realises that they are far too familiar. Someone knows about the miniature rocking horse and the little doll with its red velvet dress. Someone has been inside her house…

How does the stranger know so much about her life? How long have they been watching? And what are they waiting for…?

Review: Here’s a novel I was curious to try. The cover is very intriguing!

Corinne and her sister Ashley are both going through a bit of a rough patch. Corinne has been trying for a while to have a child with her husband and IVF isn’t working which is having a big impact on their lives. As for Ashley, she doesn’t understand why her husband keeps coming home later and later, doesn’t talk to her anymore… Maybe he’s having an affai. She’s determined to find out what’s going on, even though, at the same time, she doesn’t want to know. It’s hard enough to deal with, but then Ashley starts getting anonymous phone calls and Corinne finds pieces of the dollhouse her father made for her when she was a little girl. Yet no one believes her. What exactly is going on?

I really enjoyed following this story which has a very oppressive atmosphere. We alternate points of view in the chapters which allows us to better understand the characters. On top of that, we also have a point of view of a person whose identity we don’t know, but who we will discover towards the end.

Yes, it was a very interesting thriller and I was curious to know the identity of the person behind it. Because if there are few characters other than the main ones, it’s difficult to be sure of the culprits.

A good discovery!
