Review: I’ve read the first two volumes of this series in French and the following four in English as the French translation did not follow (which is unfortunate). With Tempted by the Night, I found out that Joss Ware is none other than Colleen Gleason. I enjoy this series because it combines two of my favorite genres: romance and apocalyptic.

I regret to say that I was disappointed by this novella. Indeed, the romance between Marisa and Luke seemed sloppy to me in the end, as if the author was in a hurry to finish it. In addition, this brings nothing new to the frame of the main story.

Résumé (traduction personnelle) : Cinquante ans après que la civilisation telle que nous la connaissons ait été détruite, le monde est un endroit différent: rempli d’étrangers immortels portant de puissants cristaux, des routes et des villes envahies, et des zombies, désespérés et tristes, qui errent sur terre.

Mais certaines choses n’ont pas changé… et quand deux vieux amis deviennent impliqués dans une situation où leurs vies sont en danger, ils commencent à réaliser qu’il y a peut-être plus à leur amitié que des souvenirs… Luke Desmond a rompu son engagement et a quitté la ville lorsqu’il a réalisé qu’il était sur le point d’épouser la mauvaise sœur. Marisa Bengotti ne peut pas lui pardonner d’avoir brisé le cœur de sa sœur… et pour ne pas savoir qu’il avait toujours eu le sien. Quand Luke réapparaît, en danger et avec des chasseurs de primes à ses trousses, Marisa se retrouve prise dans une toile de danger et de tromperie, mettant en danger non seulement une collection secrète qu’elle a juré de protéger, mais aussi son cœur meurtri. Avec les chasseurs de primes tout près, Marisa et Luke se rejoignent dans un jeu dangereux qui pourrait éviter la destruction de leur monde… mais leurs cœurs vont-ils survivre?

Avis : J’ai lu les 2 premiers tomes de cette série en français puis les 4 suivants en anglais puisque la traduction en français n’a pas suivi (ce qui est bien dommage). C’est avec Tempted by the Night que j’ai découvert que Joss Ware n’est autre que Colleen Gleason. J’apprécie cette série car elle mêle 2 de mes genres favoris : apocalyptique et romance.

Je dois malheureusement dire que j’ai été déçue par cette nouvelle. En effet, la romance entre Marisa et Luke m’a parue bâclée à la fin, comme si l’auteure était pressée de finir. De plus, cette nouvelle n’apporte rien à la trame de l’histoire principale.
