Katherine “Kitty” Katt, Book 1
Synopsis: How can a sexy marketing manager join forces with an Alpha Centauri male in Armani to save the planet-using hairspray, a Mont Blanc pen, and rock n’ roll?
She’s Touched by an Alien
Marketing manager Katherine “Kitty” Katt steps into the middle of what appears to be a domestic dispute turned ugly. And it only gets uglier when the man turns into a winged monster, straight out of a grade-Z horror movie, and goes on a killing spree. Though Kitty should probably run away, she springs into action to take the monster down.
In the middle of the chaos a handsome hunk named Jeff Martini appears, sent by the “agency” to perform crowd control. He’s Kitty’s kind of guy, no matter what planet he’s from. And from now on, for Kitty, things are going to be sexy, dangerous, wild, and out of this world.
Review: I wanted to start this series for a while now, especially given the numerous wonderful reviews that I’ve read about each book. I was therefore really curious to see what would happen with this first volume.
Kitty is a woman like any other, with a family quite ordinary, or at least that’s what she thought. But her life will be turned upside down when one day, she witnesses a domestic dispute and before her eyes, the man turns into a monster. Stating that she was surprised is an understatement, but armed with her courage, and her pen, she manages to kill the creature that threatened many lives. What she certainly does not expect, it is the arrival of a group of men in Armani each more handsome than the other, and who insist that she need to follow them. But the revelations she will learn will change her destiny and her idea about Aliens.
I really enjoyed this novel, it was really different from what I expected. Indeed, it is the first book I’ve read filled with humor like that and I must say that I smiled more than once. Martini, one of the men that we meet, is the funniest character in the story. He says dozens of nonsense at the minute and he is determined to conquer the heart of our heroine, would she like it or not! It was hilarious to watch their trade and see the Martini’s determination about her. We can not be bored for one second with him, but of course this is not the only one. Kitty is it determined to do what she wants, even if she finds herself in a government agency. Leading a team? No worries! But managing her feelings seems more complicated. Especially when Christopher comes into play. I must say that I had many questions about him. He is reserved and very unsociable without we can understand why. But of course, the answers will come in due time in the story.
Many topics are covered in this novel and I must say I was very surprised to have so many religious connotations. It was really interesting to see another population as well as other practices and I was eager to understand everything. Of course, we still have a few questions but I am sure that with the future volumes we’ll learn more. I can at least say is that Gini Koch has built a world with the most intriguing characters who can only mark us and I look forward now to learn more!
