Seriously Shifted by Tina Connolly

Seriously Wicked, Book 2

Synopsis: Teenage witch Cam isn’t crazy about the idea of learning magic. She’d rather be no witch than a bad one. But when a trio of her mother’s wicked witch friends decide to wreak havoc in her high school, Cam has no choice but to try to stop them.

Now Cam’s learning invisibility spells, dodging exploding cars, and pondering the ethics of love potions. All while trying to keep her grades up and go on a first date with her crush. If the witches don’t get him first, that is.

Can’t a good witch ever catch a break?

Review: I had a nice moment with the first volume, which was light and pleasant. Also, I was curious to discover this sequel and Cam’s adventures. It must be said that she begins to understand that she can no longer avoid confronting her witch side, especially when some old friends to her mother arrive in town. Yes, because they decide to play a game by taking the students of Cam’s school as pieces for the play, putting them in difficult situations … But our heroine is determined to thwart their plans.

This novel will place Cam in front of many important choices. She will have to decide here what her limits are and how far she is ready to go in her spells. Something that at a distance seems simple, may not be that easy, and it is true that we understand quite easily the dilemmas of the girl. What is the ethics? Is it possible to act and help people even if they do not want it? Cam is asking many questions and in this adventure she will have many new friends but many enemies as well but our young witch is determined to stop the stupid game taking place in her school and touching her friends.

As I said Cam will meet new friends such as Leo or Henry and it’s true that it was nice to learn to discover them a little more. Of course, Jehna and Devon are always present and willing to do anything to help their friend, but will they be able to beat the three witches? I was also touched by the evolution of the relationship between Cam and her mother. They try to understand each other a little more and even if it is difficult, it is a great progress.

So it was once again a sympathetic and light reading and I had a really nice time with it.

  1. I’m glad you enjoyed this one as well. It was a fun book and it really did match it’s cover. Your review of the first book in the series is also what convinced me to dive into this one without reading the first. I felt I could do it and not be lost. Although you also made me want to go back and read the first one. 😀
