The Falconer, Book 3

Synopsis: The long-awaited final book in the Falconer trilogy is an imaginative tour-de-force that will thrill fans of the series. Aileana Kameron, resurrected by ancient fae magic, returns to the world she once knew with no memory of her past and with dangerous powers she struggles to control. Desperate to break the curse that pits two factions of the fae against each other in a struggle that will decide the fate of the human and fae worlds, her only hope is hidden in an ancient book guarded by the legendary Morrigan, a faery of immense power and cruelty. To save the world and the people she loves, Aileana must learn to harness her dark new powers even as they are slowly destroying her. Packed with immersive detail, action, romance, and fae lore, and publishing simultaneously in the UK, The Fallen Kingdom brings the Falconer’s story to an epic and unforgettable conclusion.

Review: I liked the first two volumes and I was curious to discover this last book especially after the previous end.

Aileana wakes up after some terrible events without any memory. Once again, she will have to find on her own to unlock her memory. Yet, by doing this, she will have to face back the world she left behind. The two faction powers are about to go to war and only the young woman could be able to contain these events if only the Unseelie King wanted to listen to her. Poor Aileana will have to manage her new powers by trying not to abuse them too much, or to pay the consequences. She will also have to try to convince Kiaran to avoid war and help her, as well as look for a lost book for centuries and that the terrible Morrigan holds waiting for someone she could force to release her.

It was a nice conclusion for the series and the author perfectly handles us in relation to the future of our two main characters. I was quite surprised by some reversals of situation but the whole was pretty well found. We see Aileana ready to do anything to save the world she loves as well as all her friends although nothing is easy. She will have to take on her to move forward. It is sad enough to see what Kiaran has become and yet for her, he is ready to take on him and to do everything to make her survive again.

We find all the characters in the story and I really enjoyed seeing them again. It was a very good conclusion to the trilogy and I think you will have a good time if you enjoyed the first two books.

Glad your series ended on a good note. Nothing worse than when a series ends on a crappy book.
