Mile High Matched, Book 2
Synopsis: It’s all fun and games until somebody falls in love…
Jase Dvornakov has always loved women, 80’s hair band music, and things that go boom. He used to disarm bombs in the Navy, but he’s back in Denver after a mission overseas went sideways and destroyed his future, including his marriage. Now he arranges flowers in his family’s floral business because flowers don’t explode.
Cookie-baker extraordinaire, Heather Reese, has had one too many rounds of heartache, so she’s sworn off men and prefers to spend her evenings binge-watching game shows. Plus her no-men rule gives her time to focus on her dream come true—Heather’s Cookie Co.—her very own bake shop with an underground following for naughty shaped treats. She refuses to be interested in the hot-shot florist across the street. He is trouble with a capital T. Sexy trouble, but still, a hook-up with Jase is a hard nope.
Desperate to avoid his family’s incessant matchmaking, a fake breakup with the beautiful Heather is just what the florist ordered. If his family believes Heather decimated his heart, they’ll leave him alone. Heather isn’t so keen on the idea, but Jase is determined to make it worth her while. When a pretend breakup becomes the real romance neither was expecting, together they’ll have to decide if it’s finally time to light the fuse on love…
Review: I had a really good time with the first volume of the series and I was very curious to start this sequel! How resist it?
Heather gave up on men after her last disappointment, yet she didn’t expect Jason to enter her life. He offers her a deal and she must look like a girl who broke her heart. However, the more time they spend together, the more this story turns into something else. But here it is, Jase has a past that he has a hard time overcoming and an invasive family, but like really hinvasive!
I really had a great time with that story! How not fall in love for a romance between a sexy florist and a pastry chef who makes penis-shaped cakes? And as I said, there’s Jase’s family… An impressive one, but I loved the grandmother! She’s just great, completely crazy and determined to make everyone go crazy! She has a big presence in the book! Our two heroes are also touching and I really liked the fake “ex-girlfriend” side for once instead of the fake girlfriend side. That was a nice idea!
I’m very curious to read more again!
Yes! This is so funny. I loved this pair and particularly Babushka.
yes! Loved her too!
Glad you enjoyed this and I hope the next is just as good!
Pen shaped cakes?!
I am guessing the big invasive family brings a lot of hilarity to the story. I like the sound of that!
lol right? always so much fun!
Penis shaped cakes. Oh that sounds fun.
Fake Gf/BFs are fun! Except I am always looking for the moment someone gets their feelings hurt
yeah
Haha, I like the sound of the naughty cookies. Heather sounds like quite the entrepreneur 😀
I hoep this series keeps working for you.
I do like the sound of a fake ex instead of a fake girlfriend. This sounds like a lot of fun!
Haha I love baked goods and flowers too. But the fake relationship is a favorite trope for me, or the fake breakup. lol Excellent review. This is a fresh take on the trope.
Yes! This one was so fun. I had a great time with them, too 🙂
