Synopsis: Every song tells a story.
She’s a star on the rise, singing about the hard life behind her.
She’s also on the run. Find a future, lose a past.

Nashville is where she’s come to claim her destiny. It’s also where the darkness she’s fled might find her. And destroy her.

Review: I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this novel, but I was very curious to find out more. James Patterson is an author I really like and knowing that he wrote a book with Dolly Parton intrigued me. I’m not usually a fan of music-based stories, but how could I resist this one?

AnnieLee is running from her past. We don’t know exactly what happened, but she is running away and wants to start over. Her dream? To become a country singer in Nashville. But it won’t be easy. Far from it. She’s not the only one looking for fame, and she’s not anyone. However, luck is on her side, someone in the audience attends her concert and tells Ruthanna, the famous singer who has retired. Unfortunately, the past doesn’t stay buried for long and our heroine will have to decide whether to face it or run from it once again.

I really had a great time! It was a good read and reconciled me to novels in the music world. The resolution is a little quick maybe, but it’s not a big deal. I loved following AnnieLee and discovering all her secrets!

Sometimes quick resolutions are not always bad. Sometimes it works for the story and characters.

And what a fun author duo!!!
