Review: And here is the final book in the Richelle Mead series! I was really curious to see the finality of the history and to understand everything. It’s true that we began to glimpse the truth over the novels and I’m glad to see that I had understood at least a part of the truth. I confess, that I did not understand EVERYTHING, otherwise it would have been too simple but in any case a small part. I did not expect to have so many revelations and as much details but I loved this last novel, perhaps even more than some before. It allows us to understand all the little things that have been initiated and the depth of the characters.

Georgina finally spins the perfect love with Seth and her life is happier, but of course everything would be simpler if it could go on like this. So when our succubus receives an unexpected letter, she did not realize that her life would change that way. Indeed, our beloved heroine receives orders to leave Seattle for Las Vegas for a new assignment. A job that mysteriously coincides with the death of Erik or the strange name given by Seth. But whereas Roman is convinced that there is something fishy, ​​it is more difficult for our heroine to understand or see what happens. And the ramifications of this impromptu requests are much deeper than we might have initially thought. I liked how the author managed to make us discover the truth about the characters and the history of each.

I had much trouble when I realized that our succubus would fail to love Roman, especially after all he had done for her. And I admit that this is still the case as it is a character that I particularly enjoy. But this conclusion also allows us to understand better the choices of Georgina. And even if this is not what I would have chosen for her, I approve what is happening and then Seth became a little friendlier. Besides, the two characters have evolved a lot and I was glad to see the determination of this man who is still actually quite erased from the story. However, I was more surprised to see the lack of fighting spirit of our heroine at the beginning of the novel. But of course, it changes fast enough and I loved the way the events are realized.

So it was a very good volume and I’m glad to say that the end was very well found although I would have liked to know more about Roman, because I still have many questions about him.

Résumé : Seth a risqué son âme pour devenir l’amant de Georgina Kincaid. Mais avec un patron comme Lucifer, Georgina ne peut pas simplement raccrocher ses talons hauts… Elle se retrouve même obligée d’accepter une mutation à Las Vegas. Elle a beau être l’un des meilleurs éléments de l’Enfer, s’il existe pour elle une chance de se sortir de sa condition de succube, elle a bien l’intention de la saisir. Elle espère simplement ne pas y perdre l’homme pour qui elle est prête à tout sacrifier.

Avis : Et voilà le dernier tome de la série de Richelle Mead ! J’étais vraiment curieuse de voir la finalité de l’histoire et de comprendre tout ce qui en retournait. C’est vrai qu’on commençait à entrapercevoir la vérité au fil des romans et je suis contente de voir que j’avais au moins compris une partie de la vérité. Bon c’est vrai, je l’avoue, je n’ai pas TOUT compris, sinon ça serait trop simple mais en tout cas une petite partie. Je ne m’attendais pas du tout à autant de révélations et à autant de détails, et j’ai beaucoup aimé ce dernier roman, peut-être même plus que certains auparavant. Il nous permet d’assimiler toutes les petites choses qui ont été amorcées ainsi que la profondeur des personnages.

Georgina file enfin le parfait amour avec Seth et sa vie est des plus heureuses, mais bien sûr tout serait simple si cela pouvait continuer de la sorte. Aussi quand notre succube reçoit une lettre inattendue, elle ne s’attendait pas à ce que sa vie prenne un tour de la sorte. En effet, notre chère héroïne reçoit pour ordre de quitter Seattle pour Las Vegas, pour un nouvel assignement. Un travail qui coïncide mystérieusement avec la mort d’Erik ou encore l’étrange nom sorti de la bouche de Seth. Mais tandis que Roman est persuadé qu’il y a anguille sous roche, il est plus difficile pour notre héroïne de comprendre ou de voir ce qu’il se passe. Et les ramifications de cette demande impromptue sont beaucoup plus profondes que ce que l’on pourrait initialement penser. J’ai beaucoup aimé voir comment l’auteure parvenait à nous faire découvrir la vérité quant aux personnages et à l’histoire de chacun.

J’avais eu beaucoup de peine quand j’ai compris que notre succube ne parviendrait pas à aimer Roman, surtout après tout ce qu’il avait fait pour elle. Et j’avoue que c’est toujours le cas comme c’est un personnage que j’apprécie particulièrement. Mais cette conclusion nous permet aussi de comprendre un peu mieux les choix de Georgina. Et même si ce n’est pas ce que j’aurais choisi pour elle, j’approuve tout de même tout ce qu’il se passe et Seth m’est alors devenu un peu plus sympathique. D’ailleurs les deux personnages ont plus évolué et j’étais contente de voir la détermination de cet homme qui reste finalement assez effacé. J’ai cependant été plus surprise de voir le peu de combattivité de notre héroïne au début du roman. Mais bien sûr, cela change assez vite et j’ai beaucoup aimé la façon dont les événements s’enchainaient.

C’était donc un très bon tome et je suis contente de dire que la fin était très bien trouvée bien que j’aurais aimé en savoir plus sur Roman, car il me reste de nombreuses questions à son sujet.

Review: It took me a long time before reading this new novel, so when Milady (French publisher) decided to release the book in a smaller format; I thought it was time to go back to the series and to continue it. Richelle Mead is an author I really enjoy, even though I still struggle with the choice of her characters and Georgina is also the perfect example about that.

We find our heroine trying to get used to this new life without Seth. This is something quite difficult for her and gloomy evenings accumulate. Especially when she is forced to help Maddie to prepare her future wedding with Seth. So when something or someone tries to attract her, it is difficult for her to resist this call with all the sadness she has within her. But luckily for her, many friends are always there for her, desperate to save her.

I really liked to see the adventures of Georgina, and thus learning more about her past and some of the episodes of her life. We have many revelations throughout the story and I confess that it also raises many questions. A new character appears here: Simone. This girl looks completely bland and uninteresting, and yet when she begins to pay close attention to Seth, we begin to wonder what she actually wants. I confess that at the end of the book, I still struggle to decide about her fate. It is a strange character who unveils little by little, but I’m sure that we’ll understand everything in the next and last novel. I loved Roman in this book and I confess that I find hard to understand our heroine when she has a man like this before her. Seth isn’t that good compared to this character so colorful. He is ready to do anything to save our heroine and she doesn’t seem to understand what is going on, or she doesn’t want to. I had a bit of trouble as I said with the choice of our heroine as hiding their relationship to Maddie, or staying completely obsessed with the same man, but I’d really like to understand the reason about all that. And I can not wait to see the progress and conclusion of the story in relation to this.

The mystery of our heroine is gradually revealed in this novel and we know little by little what the author is trying to reveal to us. I’m also really curious to discover the truth!

Résumé : Georgina a des super pouvoirs, elle est immortelle, elle est capable de séduire n’importe quel homme (ou femme), elle peut changer de forme à volonté… Mais donner un coup de main pour la préparation du mariage de son ex, c’est une tout autre histoire. Heureusement, il y a des distractions, comme ce succube récemment débarqué à Seattle. Mais le réel danger réside dans la force mystérieuse qui a commencé à envahir les pensées de Georgina…

Avis : J’ai mis assez longtemps avant de lire ce nouveau roman, aussi quand Milady a décidé de sortir le volume en format de poche, je me suis dit qu’il était temps que je revienne sur la série et que je la continue. Richelle Mead est une auteure que j’apprécie particulièrement, même si j’ai toujours du mal avec les choix de ses personnages et Georgina en est aussi le parfait exemple.

Nous retrouvons donc notre héroïne, essayant de s’accoutumer au mieux à cette nouvelle vie sans Seth. C’est quelque chose d’assez difficile, et les soirées moroses s’accumulent. Notamment quand elle est obligée d’aider Maddie à préparer son mariage avec Seth. Aussi quand une puissance essaie de l’attirer, il est difficile pour elle de résister à l’appel pour éviter de penser à sa vie si triste. Mais heureusement pour elle, de nombreux amis sont toujours là pour elle, prêts à tout pour la sauver.

J’ai beaucoup aimé retrouver les aventures de Georgina, et ainsi en apprendre plus quant à son passé et certains des épisodes de sa vie. Nous aurons un grand nombre de révélations tout au long de l’histoire et j’avoue que l’on se pose aussi de nombreuses questions. Un nouveau personnage apparait ici : Simone. Cette succube semble complètement insipide et sans intérêt, et pourtant quand elle commence à s’intéresser de près à Seth, on commence à se demander ce qu’elle cache réellement. J’avoue qu’en fin de livre, j’ai toujours du mal à statuer sur son sort. C’est un personnage assez étrange qui n’en dévoile que très peu, mais je suis sûre que l’on comprendra tout dans le prochain et dernier roman. J’ai beaucoup aimé Roman dans ce livre et j’avoue que j’ai du mal à comprendre notre héroïne quand elle a un homme tel que celui-ci devant elle. Seth fait vraiment pâle figure comparé à ce personnage si haut en couleur. Il est vraiment prêt à tout pour notre succube et elle ne semble pas comprendre ce qu’il se passe ou alors se voile la face. J’ai un peu de mal comme je le disais avec les choix de notre héroïne, comme le fait de cacher leur relation à Maddie, ou le fait de rester complètement obsédée par le même homme, mais j’aimerais vraiment comprendre la raison à tout cela. Et j’ai hâte de voir la progression et la conclusion de l’histoire par rapport à tout cela.

Le mystère de notre héroïne se dévoile peu à peu dans ce roman et on comprend petit à petit ce que l’auteure essaie de nous dévoiler. Je suis vraiment curieuse d’ailleurs de découvrir toute la vérité sur cette histoire.
