Celine’s adventures: Lux saga, Books 2, 3, 4 by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Celine is a French blogger who writes some fictional reviews about the books she loves the most and they always make me laugh. I hope the humor even if translated is kept. Thanks for her reviews.

 Synopsis:

Opal
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different…and I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Origin
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?

——————————————————

Dear Santa,

I promise you that I was very, very wise. I’ve dutifully worked and I’ve even organized my desk.

(Throat clearing behind me, Dear Boyfriend looks at me quizzically. But yes, I promise you, I’ve organized my office, we can now do two steps without dropping a stack of boxes.)

I was very reasonable regarding the purchase of books. I have not succumb to my bookish instincts, I have resisted, and I’ve even avoided the temptation by working, not to go watch the friends’ blogs. This is heroism, you know that … My friends, these are real temptresses …

(New throat clearing. Dear Boyfriend contemplates the bag that lies beneath the coffee table. It is very large … and pudgy … and carries a dubious inscription that starts with “B” and ends with “K” and contains four letters. But that’s not the same, the content is for my friends … For me, there are only two or three books, no more. A trifle amount that is not worth the trouble of being mentioned.)

I’ve cooked for Dear Boyfriend…

(The sip of coffee just taken by Dear Boyfriend goes wrong. He arches an eyebrow, which means “Really?”. So, I feel compelled to clarify and return to my letter with application.)

I’ve cooked for Dear Boyfriend, even if it is true that it was bit different the past three weeks, but I have a good excuse, I was overwhelmed by work. But I’m still busy with the cats’ litters. Five maine coon, it’s a lot of work.

I went to the Books-addicts Anonymous’ meetings and I’ve religiously listened to the Redhead-Cerberus, the kind monitor and I have even delivered a few novels.

(That we’ve recovered at the peril of our lives then, my butt is slow to heal, humidity I think …)

As I’ve been really perfect (I throw a shot to Dear Boyfriend who has almost papered the screen of his computer with the coffee he just spit), I thought you could do a little something for me. Finally rather two small things. Because you see, this saga by Jennifer L. Armentrout is really good. I swallowed volumes 2, 3 and 4 in a few days … and I loved them … I had read reviews about the decline of the pace of the saga. I beg to differ. The pace is breathless at times … The characters are really nice, and it’s a well done story. So I was wondering if you could not do something so I do not have to sneak into the field where there is the bull (my butt would appreciate) to bury them at the foot of the chestnut, with other books that might otherwise appear on the blacklist of banned -books. Or better yet, to convince the gods-of-all-the-things-of-the-land-and-the-sea that these books are not harmful.
The Lux saga, dangerous? I protest, not at all. I have not forgotten to eat, to take a bath or to go to the bathroom during the time of my reading, it is a sign that it is as harmless as a kitten.

(Okay, I’ve taken the book with me to the bathroom … and I’ve lunched with it … and it learned to swim in the water in my bath …)

And I even went to bed at a decent hour …

(Okay, I turned off my bedside lamp around 2 A.M. for several days … But it could have been worse …)

That was the first thing. The second would be to put under my tree (which I will hasten me to get out of cardboard and to decorate!) Volume 5, the latest, translated into Spanish or French, I’m not picky . I still can not read in English, this is my girlfriend Melliane who has this skill, I read in Spanish and French … And it was fortunate for me that the first 4 volumes were translated into Spanish. But not the 5th. And you know, it’s kind of a matter of life and death there, because the end of the fourth is terrible. So if you could do a little something for me, I’d be really grateful to you. I think that between two deliveries, it should be possible.
I promise, I will think of leaving you a glass of wine and to lead the chimney. I understand that the recent years were good for you, and that it was now very difficult to drag you into the heating pipes. I understand the weight of years ….

Yours,

  1. Ha! I love your letter LOL!

Sadly, I am another one that only read the first book and then stopped reading. Not because I didn’t like it but more because I sort of forgot about it. I do have the other books though so I guess now would be a great time to start it back up!

  2. I do not like the sound of Dear Boyfriend very much! All that snorting and eyebrow-arching, when it is glaringly obvious that she HAS been an angel and has a RIGHT to ask Santa for these things…! Lol, another great post. Very funny <3

  3. I just have to say that the French version of the covers kicks-butt. I want them *grabby hands* This is one of my favorite series and got me hooked on YA reads, Lol.

Thanks for the post, it made me smile. Santa should listen 😉

  4. HA ha…. the boyfriend and all he endures made me laugh. I still haven’t gone further than book one with this series I really don’t know why. I should get after it.
